Hi Everyone! I’m 39 + 1 weeks and just wondering who else is on their final weeks. No signs yet for me and just taking it one day at a time. I have a 2 year old to keep me busy. Hope everyone is doing ok xx

I’m 40+5 and still have no signs - no Braxton Hicks, loss of plug, contractions or any signs that the baby is ready to come out any time soon. I’m not too uncomfortable but just a bit bored of waiting. Like you I’m just trying to take it one day at a time - it’s my first baby so not sure what to expect!

WoWsers16 · 28/01/2019 19:20

Hey I am 38 + 5 so not quite 39 but nearly!
No twinges yet. I think I may have had some braxton hicks- but unsure. This is my third- my previous 2 were exactly a week late so I am just in the mind set this one will be late too! I am working up till this Friday (I am a teacher but working as a TA since after Christmas) so really enjoying that!
xx

Cariadxx · 28/01/2019 19:36

@olivecakes I'm due tomorrow and like you have zero signs, the head isn't even engaged! He's totally run out of space and I'm getting more cranky and uncomfortable as each day passes.

WoWsers16 · 28/01/2019 19:41

I keep having long nice baths and just chilling lots - trying to enjoy the peace before the storm hehe xx

Emz1989 · 28/01/2019 22:04

40+8 and I've had enough!! Physically my body is giving up on me - my hips and back are so sore. Mentally I'm doing ok, I know 'it'll happen when it happens', but ouch!

Olivecake · 29/01/2019 06:50

Emz1989 sorry to hear you’re having pains - have you tried a pregnancy massage? I had one and it was really great for my back. Do you have plans for a sweep or induction or going to try to wait it out naturally?

Cariadxx Happy due date! Hope things get moving for you soon.

Lots of ball bouncing and baths here trying to make the most of the peace too but really want to just get on with it now!

Sexnotgender · 29/01/2019 06:51

41+3 here😡
Having some twinges this morning so hopefully it’ll turn into something.

Got induction booked for Friday if not.

PonyPals · 29/01/2019 06:53

39+1 and not getting any signs.
C section is booked in 3 days. Better get a move on and pack my bags!!!!

Cariadxx · 29/01/2019 07:37

So I've woken up on my due date with what looks like a bloody show Shock Maybe a sign that something is happening finally? I can still feel that foot inn my ribs though!

TinyMarie · 29/01/2019 07:39

38+3 so not quite 39 but close.
Last week I was desperate for her to come early but my FIL turned up unannounced with a bad cold and I've been in bed for 5 days as a result of catching it! I'm not happy and can't imagine going into labour feeling like this so I'm really hoping I don't!
I hope things get moving soon for 40+ers!

Olivecake · 29/01/2019 18:16

Cariadxx how has your day progressed? Did anything else start?

Think I may have just had a bloody show but so hard to tell - just leaked pink blood stained watery liquid but not a huge pop like waters breaking and not thick like a mucus plug... no contractions yet though so don’t really know what it means

JamilaJ · 29/01/2019 22:09

Me, 39 weeks with twins (no idea how I’ve made it this far). Very uncomfortable but being induced on Friday, was meant to be tomorrow but have had to reschedule 😩 already have a daughter who is very excited as are we ❤️

Busyfool · 30/01/2019 06:43

40+8 & had a stretch & sweep today... Midwife said my cervix wasn’t close to ready so called labour ward for induction date, they are over booked so could only book for Sunday 3rd Feb when we asked for this Thursday! 😩

Feeling quiet nervous for an induction at the labour ward- ideal birth plan was hopeful to stay at home for the whole labour or maybe birth centre but now feel this isn’t going to be happening for us 😢

Cariadxx · 30/01/2019 07:25

@olivecake I had more light pink stained mucous throughout the day, plenty of BH and a very active baby but nothing more. DH very disappointed that he has to go to work today! I've read that things normally start within 48 hours of a bloody show so maybe today? Sounds like you've had the same thing!
Also we live on a farm and there's snow forecast for tomorrow Hmm Could be an issue!

Olivecake · 30/01/2019 08:38

Cariadxx that sounds like me too- since yesterday evening have had a proper bloody mucus show and then slowly loosing a little more, a few cramps and tightenings but no real contractions! My baby is really active too! My midwife just came to my house to check on me and the baby and said everything looked good.

I hope contractions will start for both of us soon. It’s snowing here too so not sure how that will effect things but luckily we are not too far from the hospital.

Cariadxx · 30/01/2019 10:34

We're 40 minutes away driving steadily in decent weather Hmm. Where the hospital is, they are more likely to have snow as well as we're a little bit sheltered here. I've tried lots of squatting but still nothing and over 24hrs now grrr. My midwife reckons that ok be one of those women who get to 8cm without realising.... not so good when you live where I do!!!

Cariadxx · 30/01/2019 22:08

Any progress @olivecake?

Thamantha · 30/01/2019 22:20

I'm 40+4 and so ready for this baby to arrive. Unfortunately this baby seems much more comfortable and snug inside. The wee one was only 1/5th engaged on Monday.

I lost my mucus plug last night, but haven't had any other signs apart from the occasional stop/start contraction. I'm booked in for an induction next week, so i am hoping that baby decides to come out and see the world before then.

I'm Scottish, and at least one friend has suggests dangling a can of irn-bru 'down there to entice the baby out Grin. If the wee one doesn't show soon then i may need to give it a shot!

Olivecake · 31/01/2019 00:48

Cariadxx I’m in the hospital now - contractions started quite suddenly and very intensely. Strange to think my baby will be here today! How about you?

Thamantha Laughing at the Irn Bru idea because I love that drink so much and when I was sick with hyperemesis earlier in my pregnancy I would dream of ice cold Irn Bru. I had no signs a few days ago but once I lost my plug things started moving pretty quickly so hope it will for you too!

Cariadxx · 31/01/2019 07:21

@olivecake my waters went at half 10 last night but no contractions at all so have to go in this morning for a check up and go from there. Hope your little one arrives safely!

Sexnotgender · 31/01/2019 09:24

41+5 today and still no sign. Thoroughly fed up and had a big cry last night Sad

WoWsers16 · 03/02/2019 14:57

39+4 and at a football tournament with my youngest 20 miles away from home. Some back pain- really hoping not in labour lol - been sick this morning too so feel quite rubbish, my mums coming up tomorrow to help give the house a big clean so really wanting to last till then!
Sorry to hear some that are fed up - try and enjoy the calm before the storm xxxxx

CatsOnCatnip · 04/02/2019 08:25

40 weeks today. No sign. No braxtons no excessive discharge. Nothing. It’s my first so trying to enjoy the little bit of maternity time I have to myself, but I’m so uncomfortable. And sleeping is the hardest so get a bit miffed when people suggest I should get loads of naps in before the baby comes! At least I’m well prepared for no sleep. I had two instances of what I can only describe as ‘false labour’ at 32 and 34 weeks at home that lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes retrospectively whilst I was still working in the day and on my feet a lot. But nothing since.

Thamantha · 05/02/2019 13:00

Well, our wee boy arrived yesterday morning (40+8), weighing a healthy 7lbs 15oz. Mucus plug went at 40+3, waters broke at 40+6 and contractions started within a couple of hours of the waters going. He took a while coming out, but he is just lovely! We are still in hospital as he is having some issues with feeding.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting.

CatsOnCatnip · 07/02/2019 12:35

Congratulations Thamantha

Sounds like it all went relatively smoothly for you! Fingers crossed something similar will happen for me.

Still no sign as yet.
