Wasn't sure if I should pop this on Childbirth but perhaps more traffic here.

Interested in hearing from anyone who's had or is planning on having a planned home birth!

I'm 26 weeks pregnant with DC2. Past few weeks or so I've been researching and taken a lot of interest in the idea. Planning on speaking to the MW at my next appointment in 2 weeks and hopefully will get transferred to the home birth team.

Would love to hear from others who also have an interest Grin

I had a home birth with my younger son who is now 18, and although it was a long time ago, I absolutely recommend it. The midwives were brilliant and it was just so comfortable being at home, feeding him in my own bed after the birth, taking a bath in my own bath! If everything seems straightforward, I say go for it. I wish I could have one with the baby I'm expecting now, but I think I'm too old to risk. Best of luck with your plans, NannyPearSmile

That's lovely to hear Betty! The more I read about it the more it makes sense and I feel it's right for me :) best wishes to you too!

There was a thread on here earlier on about this.

I’m very early on with DC2 and it is something I would like. But, I don’t know if DH is keen and my friend told me there was no way she’d do it, which is playing on my mind.

The thread before seemed divided between it was brilliant and I loved it vs it’s dangerous and there’s no way I’d do it.
