she said LO head down BUT back-2-back!!!

everytime I have been seen by gp/Midwife LO has been ok but why would he have twisted back-2-back all of a sudden?

or is it like ..a corkcscrew and LO settling into the pelvis by trying different positions

will LO turn back to being in the normal front-2-back position as he has been the previous two weeks..or am I doomed??

argh!!

am 36 1/2 weeks btw

dd was back to back when labour started but turned during early labour

tasja · 02/07/2007 14:08

Hi
Sorry, I don't really have advise. My baby was also head down (all through preg) and back to back at 33weeks. She turned again. was born on 35weeks.
I think all babies differ.
Good luck!

Theres still time for baby to move.

My ds went from transverse to head down when I was pushing so anythigns possible.

It doesnt mean you cant deliver naturally it just means that you might have a bit more pain your back.

My DD was back to back but must have turned as my labour was only 2 1/2 hours.

Princesspowersparkle · 02/07/2007 15:13

Mine was back 2 back at last visit (36 weeks). MW told me to try and crawl around on hands and knees, sit back to front on dining chair (ie forward resting on the back) or sit on gym ball and wiggle pelvis.
Babies can change position right in labour so try not to panic. You can still give birth normally but you'll get more back labour so may have to consider epidural if you weren't already.
Hope it moves for you but not the end of the world if it doesn't.

dont be too concerned, my LO was breech til 39 weeks and turned during labour!

hippopowell · 02/07/2007 16:38

Hi,
My LO was back to front when I was checked & went into labour. Then when I was 8cm she turned back to back. Still had a normal delivery, just long & very painful. I wouldn't worry, you've got time on your side & you really never know what can happen. There are lots of stories of babies turning to front to back during early labour. Try not to worry about things you can not control(well that's what I'm telling myself this time round anyway)

i guess yes - no point worrying about what i can't really control

although will inflate my ball tonight and sit on it!!

I've had 3 back to back. You can do the positioning mentioned above and baby does have time to turn.

2 of mine turned in labour. I really do believe forward leaning positions in labour help more than anything.
