35w and the flu has hit our house!
Dd is almost over it, but it's hit me the hardest even though I had the jab.
I'm also asthmatic so any sort of normal cold cripples my lungs and I feel like I have an elephant in my chest so this is killer.

Its currently the weekend so no Dr's available unless I go to a and e which I think is silly because its not an emergency.

What did you all do when you got the flu?
Baby is moving still but hates my coughs so stops wiggling when I do, and as soon as dd is awake I don't have chance to pay attention to baby's movements and when she's asleep I zonk out! So harder to tell if reduced movement. Pickle is my main worry!

I've got flu at the moment (30w). Went to the GP yesterday and they just said lots of rest, fluid and regular paracetamol. Not easy with a toddler but luckily it's the weekend and so hubby is around to help. She said it wouldn't harm the baby and to remember to eat and drink even if you might not feel like it.
The coughing has also caused cervical bleeding but a quick phone call to the hospital confirmed this was nothing to worry about and normal.
My sympathies. It's horrible.

The GP also did all my obs (blood pressure, urine etc) which were all normal and confirmed inflamed ears and throat. So not a lot we can do really. She said the flu jab doesn't protect against all strains unfortunately. All the best. Fingers crossed for a restful night x

The main concern was around the baby's movements. So if you're even a little bit unsure, GP said to call maternity assessment line

Im 30 weeks and was in hospital yesterday with what they suspected was sepsis but thankfully no infection was found so it’s most likely I have a horrible virus or flu. I honestly have never felt so ill. They were marvellous at reassuring me. I was strapped to a monitor the whole time I was there and baby was quite happy. I was given fluids and paracetamol and they would have kept me in if I’d wanted but I have other dc and Kat wanted to get home. Today I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus but no longer so acutely ill, yesterday my temperature kept going from 35 to 38 and my head was banging. Today it’s turned into general weakness and I’ve developed a cough and some shortness of breath. I was told to never feel like I’m wasting their time, and to call the maternity main line if I’m at all worried to go back in for monitoring. At the moment I can feel baby move around so that’s reassuring, if my breathing gets any worse tomorrow then I may well go back in. You have my sympathy, it’s rotten to feel like this at any time let alone when you’re pregnant x

So sorry to hear you're both going through hellish illness too!
But glad both babes are fine and still active
I have paracetamol for the first time ever to try to kill the fever as that was my main concern with pickle, that evening kicks and punches and general beating shot back up and now feel much better, currently trying to stretch my stomach ways it doesn't want to go! 😂
Now just have to ride out the rest of the storm so to speak and hopefully it goes sooner rather than later!

I am day 3 feels like I got the flu has feel hot . Now tomorrow I just feel the chills when heating is on

I have asthma and would go straight to the GP if I had the flu, because I’d be worried about it getting a lot worse. I think it depends on the individual but I know I could end up hospitalized with meds that aren’t good for the baby. So I’d want them to assess the situation and my current meds to prevent that.
