'Period Pains' while pregnant?

Hi there, I'm currently 27+5 weeks pregnant but I've been feeling sharp pains every now and then I can only describe as period pains.
It was quite nasty the other night, then it goes quiet, but it can spike up again at times. It's never painful enough to make me jolt or yell out, just enough for me to notice

(I'm unlucky enough to get painful period pains so I might just be used to sharp pains at this point).

I did message my midwife and she said to keep an eye out for water or blood - which I've had none. But I have had a LOT of pressure very low down. I feel like if I cough he'll fall out sometimes!

Baby is still wiggling around like a champ as usual, no worries there. I finally got diagnosed with severe SPD - so is this pain just linked to that? Or is it part of Braxton Hicks?

This is my first baby and haven't had many antenatal classes yet so I have no idea what the difference is between Hicks and labour. And if this 'period pain' is part of 3rd trimester.

Anyone else have/had this? Is it alarming? I don't really want to make my way to the hospital and risk panicking myself if it's just a normal thing.

No spd here but I had those pains with all 4 dc. Worse in the evening. I still called in to the MAU to get them checked though, even 4th time around!

Had these pains for a few weeks now too (32+2) and midwife sent me to MAU to get checked out. Went on the monitor for 30 mins and had urine tests etc and all was fine. Only need to worry if there is any bleeding or water now! Being checked over definitely put my mind at ease though as they're basically checking you're not in preterm labour so if you have any concerns ring hospital x
