Public bone pain

Hi, just looking for some thoughts on some pain I’m having, I’m 11 weeks pregnant today and since this morning have been having a dull ache in my public bone, sometimes on the front and then sometimes on both the left and right side. It’s not agonising but is quite uncomfortable, it feels very tender almost like it’s bruised. It’s eased slightly when sitting down but when walking or moving about it hurts.

I had an ultrasound yesterday and everything was perfect, but I’m slightly nervous about what this ache could be as I’ve never had it before? I’ve tried googling and heard a lot of women mention SPD, but not sure if this would be a symptom or if I would feel it so early.

Anyone had this before? I had no spotting or cramps or anything else to concern me, just a very dull ache right on my pubic bone area.

Thanks xx

How is turning over in bed or getting out of a car?

sounds like spd - now called pgp - pelvic girdle pain. I have it, some days worse than others. Pain/aches in pubic area, and my hips/sacrum too. It can happen at any point in pregnancy as the hormones make everything looser and more wobbly, hence aching. I dont have problems getting in/out of car which some do, but struggle if I walk a long way or on tarmac/hard shoes, also have to sit down to put trousers, socks on/off. I self-referred to physio on NHS - look up or ask your mw what procedure is in your area. I had my first appt today and she assessed and did some physical therapy, and just gave me advice on how to manage it. have another appt in 2 weeks.

If it is pgp/ spd, I started with symptoms about 11 weeks too. I'm now 34 weeks. I've been using crutches since 28 weeks. Co-codamol every day since 32 weeks. I can barely move. It sucks. Oh and I got signed off work at 32 weeks as my job involves lots of walking.

Best advice: push for a physio referral. Don't push yourself - if it hurts, rest. Look for helpful tips on the pelvic partnership website.

I have this too. I'm 24 weeks and it started out if the blue about 4 weeks ago. I was googling "sore vagina" because that was how it felt! Didn't realise it was my pubic bone because it's such an odd type of pain.
After 4 weeks I've found it comes and goes and is different everyday, so yours might ease off, and then come back.
I'm fairly active and had been doing yoga and my pelvic floor exercises. But I guess even that wasn't enough to prevent it.
Try not to worry. You'll have loads more aches and pains to come!
