Just wondering if everyone takes extra iron supplements during pregnancy?
Currently 27 weeks and the midwife said my iron levels are really good but that I should take galfer every second day to prevent becoming anaemic in the third trimester.
Is this standard practice? I'm a bit reluctant because I know galfer in particular can cause digestive issues. But if I have to take it then I will, just seems strange to me when I don't need to right now.
I take pregnancy vitamins that contain 17mg of iron each day.
