Bloating in early pregnancy

Hello guys.

I'm 4 weeks 2 days today and last Sunday I literally had to buy maternity pants because I am so bloated and uncomfortable. Despite having lost weight since the beginning of January.

I was pregnant last year and miscarried at 8 weeks and never had bloating like this, although I had many other symptoms.

Is it normal to be THIS bloated so early? I look 4-5 months pregnant, even my DP is shocked.

I was inseminated with 3 follicles, could it be that it's multiples?

Anyone got any experience??

I was so bloated for all of first trimester, still am a bit! Pic is of me at 4 weeks when I first found out I was pregnant, then at around 8 weeks when I reached peak bloat! It went back down a little, now I'm just chubby from stuffing my face to stop morning sickness. Now nearly 14 weeks and having trouble distinguishing what's fat, bloat, and bump... it's all quite squishy so not sure if any of it is bump!

Oh and I suspected multiples due to this plus early morning sickness but it's just the one! So couldbe a factor for you or not.

At 6 weeks I was so bloated and my stomach felt so tender that I couldn’t have much touching it, which sometimes includes a t-shirt. I was in maternity pants at 6 weeks, as I couldn’t handle a higher waistband than the under-bump ones.

I think I was so bloated because my digestive system basically gave up. I had loads of nausea and food aversions. I couldn’t eat much, but when I needed to eat it had to be straight away. On more than one occasion, I just lay there on the floor, waiting for DH to prepare exactly the food I needed in exactly the correct way, very quickly. That was fun for us both! (He was an absolute star.)

My “bump” came very early, because I was already fat and also extremely bloated.

This is a photo of me at 9 weeks (the first sideways one I took). Not that much different at 19 weeks! (Except better shape and wriggling on the inside!) (I’m exaggerating. It is definitely bigger at 19 weeks)

Thank guys.

I think you've reassured me that I'm normal 😁

I was incredibly bloated (to the point of extreme discomfort) from 4 weeks until about 11. I’m now 14 and it’s just about gone

I was so bloated at 5 weeks I also bought maternity jeans as I couldn’t do any of my jeans up. I’m 13 weeks now and the bloating has gone and a “normal bump” is starting to grow. I never had bloating with my previous child so I did wonder about twins, but no just the one!

With your bloating, did it feel like your stomach was a balloon waiting to pop and having to take in a deep breath to try and ease it even the slightest? Thank you
