Im 19 weeks tomorrow and for the past week or so I am getting horrible tightening pains in my tummy - all over the front, and they HURT!

Is it normal to have BH's this early, or should I be worried? Only ever got BH's with the girls at 36wks plus!

ARGHHHHHH

I had them from 12 weeks. Due to dehydration caused by morning sickness.
At twenty weeks or so they were quite bad, and they monitored me in hospital and gave me a week off work, and everything was fine.

Speak to your mw if you're worried.

i had them around 20 weeks or so

Oh blimey JARM!

JARM · 01/07/2007 18:16

Tell me about it NBG!

Although, it could have had something to do with the upset tummy ive just had (sorry, TMI!)

Has been happening without the following of an upset tummy though!

I definitely had them second time around from before 20 weeks...but they were not madly painful, make sure you are drinking enough water, as being dehydrated makes them worse, also, if they are very painful, or you are worried, get checked out.....if they seem to be regular or getting worse or you are losing fluid, call the MW

I thought I had them at about that same stage this time JARM, then they seemed to stop and now I'm just beginning to notice something again at nearly 30 wks. Nothing like what they were with DS either if that makes sense - DS's hurt like he was biting my bladder, these don't which is probably why I've not been noticing. Have been told on here before though that BH's are a good way of getting your womb match fit for the birth, tell that to my friend who had her BH's early too and just had to have a emergency CS as not dilating!
