Hi
I am currently 6+1. I had an early miscarriage (5+2) last year in July and this is my first pregnancy since. I have started spotting this morning and am worried that this is the start of another miscarriage. I know I need to just wait and see what happens however I wondered if anyone has had anything similar with a positive outcome? I’m not in any pain at all and I’m not sure if it was pointless but I did another test which is still showing the test line darker than the control line xx

Hi @CJ2003. I am pregnant with my first - have no previous pregnancies so not exactly in your position but I also had some spotting at 6 weeks. GP referred me to the EPU that day. I had a scan and everything was fine, saw a little heartbeat. Now just hoping that everything is going OK until 12 weeks - I'm 8 weeks tomorrow.

I'd call your GP or EPU. I expect they will see you quickly after previous MC. Fingers and toes crossed for you. x

Hi @excitednerves
Thank you for replying. I’m glad to hear everything was okay when you went for your scan. It’s made me feel a bit of hope I maybe could still have a good outcome this time too.
I called the EPU this morning and they said to call them back if the spotting gets worse or if I get any pain. I’ve had no further spotting today and I guess if they don’t want me to go in that’s a good sign? It feels like forever to wait another six weeks for a scan. It’s such a worrying time isn’t it xx

Hi @CJ2003
I had early spotting with both my boys and went to EPU for early scans. All was well and was told it was implantation bleeding.
I just turned up to A&E and waited so that's an option too.
It is such a long wait, the slowest 12 weeks imaginable!
I wish you all the best and have everything crossed for you. Xx

CJ2003 · 23/01/2019 18:22

Hi @pollysproggle
Thank you for your message. It’s reassuring to hear you had the same issue and successful pregnancies. I thought the EPU may have suggested an early scan because of what happened last time. I suppose at this stage there isn’t much they can do if something goes wrong.
You are right it is the slowest 12 weeks waiting to make sure everything is okay xx

I had light spotting for the first three months with my first and everything worked out fine. Had a significant bright red bleed at eight weeks with my second and was convinced I'd lost the baby but all was fine - they called it bruising on my uterus. Obviously any bleeding can be bad news but it isn't always so try not to worry too much until you can get checked - I hope it works out for you, the early weeks are so difficult, especially when you've had a previous loss.

Hi @shadowkitty
Thank you for sharing your experiences as well. I’m trying not to worry too much it is hard especially following a loss. It’s good to be able to hear some positive stories and be able to share my worries on here xx

Hi I am in the exact same boat as you. Very light bleeding and back pain. Ive to go next fri for an early scan and was told just to wait and see. Its so hard. Fingers crossed for you xx

CJ2003 · 24/01/2019 09:26

Hi @ dottyp0104
That’s good you have been offered an early scan. I hope it puts your mind at rest and everything is okay. I will keep my fingers crossed for you too xx

I also had spotting early on. My 6 month old is currently napping upstairs! It can be fairly common, like PP's have said, it can be implantation bleeding. I had an early scan and was told I was 5 weeks (I was worried then cos I thought I was further) and then went back 2 weeks later where we saw a heartbeat and I was then 8 weeks!

I really hope it works out for you. I haven't had a miscarriage but my first was extremely premature and sadly died a few short hours after birth due to complications. I understand how worrying it can be, hope everything works out for you!

CJ2003 · 25/01/2019 10:08

Hi @whitetoblerone
I’m sorry to hear about your first. I’m glad you have gone on to have a successful pregnancy and healthy baby.
I’m still having spotting but it hasn’t got any worse. When I had my miscarriage it progressed to bleeding much quicker than this so I’m still hopeful but at the same time on edge in case it starts getting worse xx

Hi
Thought I would update.
Had a scan today I should be 7+1 but the sac only measuring 5+4. Either my dates are wrong or the pregnancy isn’t viable. Need to go back in 2 weeks for another scan xx

Hi @CJ2003 like you I had a bleed. When I went for my first scan I was 6+4 but my gestation sac was measuring 5-6 weeks. (They weren't as specific with dates just said 5 to 6 weeks) I was 100% of my dates. No fetal Pole was noted but the yolk sac was. When I went back yesterday after a awful 2 week wait my dates were in fact correct and I was dated at 8weeks. Heartbeat was flickering away. Fingers crossed for you. Did they see where the bleed had come from mine was adjacent to the sac x

CJ2003 · 30/01/2019 16:15

Hi @BeeYouTiful
I’m pretty sure of my dates so we are preparing for the worst again, they didn’t see where the bleeding has come from. Fingers crossed for a miracle - you must be so relieved. Two weeks seems like forever to wait xx

Hi it’s been just over a week since my first scan and I’ve still been spotting which was getting less and less until last night when I had a bright red quite heavy bleed which stopped almost as soon as it started. My question is my HPT’s seem to be getting darker would this happen if it’s another miscarriage? xx

Hi
I thought I would update this for anyone reading.
It’s been confirmed I have had another miscarriage however the empty sac is still growing which is why my pregnancy tests are still positive and why not much bleeding.
Going in on Friday for medical management.
Thank you to the ladies who offered support xx
