I know many people don't need even half that stuff on there but after DS I want to be prepared. I foolishly only packed a very light labour bag and hadnt fully packed it with everything I wanted (waters broke at 36+5, didnt think I would labour so early!). I had to keep sending DH and DM off for snacks/drinks and post birth Ds and I had to stay in for a week due to sepsis and jaundice. DH didnt want to leave us so my DM had to rummage around my home to find things to bring back for us, and I know exactly what she would have found in my drawers (so much awkwardness!!)
