Terrified - 20 week scan

I am pregnant with my first baby from IVF. I have my 20 week scan this week and I am terrified that there is going to be something wrong.
I am feeling baby moving and I have no signs to suggest that something is wrong but my anxiety is through the roof and I am not normally an anxious person.
I know people who have had bad news at the 20 week scan and this is really playing on my mind.

I have my 20 week in 2 weeks love and it's not very often I feel my baby love you will be ok I was very scared when I had my 12 week one and baby was fine I know what you mean cause I am a little nervous as like I said it's not very often my baby moves sometime not at all some days we will be fine

ha! I thought there would be nothing wrong & then they found a bunch of maybe problems. There was nothing wrong, but they spent months deciding about that (extra scans & tests).

After that I went into all scans assuming that they would find a huge heap of problems that they wanted to investigate for months before declaring it was nothing at all. I have severe scan avoidance phobia, now.

When is your scan? Come back to tell us how it went.

@Crazyeyes3 this was me just over a week ago!

I was having palpitations before i went into the scanning room, terrified wasn’t even the word for it!!

Anyway, everything was fine with baby!

I got told it’s overwhelmingly likely that everything will be ok at this scan. I hope Friday comes quickly for you!

I know it probably doesn’t help but statistically it’s much more likely that baby will be completely healthy. Try to relax, the 20 week scan is really lovely! Let us know how you get on

This was me. I was shaking so much I lied and told the midwife doing the scan I was cold. She was very sweet and gave me a blanket. I felt a bit silly.

But honnestly worrying is totally normal. But statics show you are probally worrying needlessly.

The scan was all fine and baby looks like an actual baby now. Was lovely :)
