Would a midwife see me for this?

I’m 37 weeks and I’m struggling. I’m struggling emotionally & physically.

I’ve experienced spotting, painful lower abdominal cramps, loose stools and vomiting. The vomiting is the worst. I’ve also been getting intermittent pain & discomfort under my ribs.

As the baby is head down and facing my spine I’m struggling to recognise movements as they aren’t as strong because of the position although I have felt baby move today.

I rang the triage service yesterday and they didn’t want to see me as I wasn’t in labour and wasn’t concerned about the spotting etc. At my last appointment my midwife didn’t think I had Preeclampsia as my blood pressure has always been fine and there’s been no swelling.

I just want to speak to someone to put me at ease as I’m feeling really down and anxious. I rang the community midwife about it yesterday and they said to ring triage who aren’t concerned.

I’m so sorry to hear your having such a rough time. I’d definitely go and speak to your midwife, she can always refer you straight to the hospital. Wishing you all the best x

I would think if you're really concerned, just ring your midwife and say you wish to see someone or go to the dr, but if they don't seem worried I doubt there's much they can do right now. Is there anything you can do to try and relax today? I'm 6 months pregnant and already want him out 🤪

It does sound like early labour or a bad UTI, both of which they should see you for. Ring triage agian and if (oddly) it's just for early labour, ask where you go / ring (midwifery assessment unit or similar).

Tell them you’re unwell, have chest pain and movements have changed. They should review you

Hope you feel better and never feel bad for getting checked out Hope you feel better soon.

Even if the rib pain is purely baby (or vomiting related) peace of mind is everything

How long have you had the vomiting for? Could it be a tummy bug?
I wonder if you’ve got a couple of different things going on.
