This might sound like a silly question. But are ecigs better than smoking cigarettes??

Nicotine is not good during pregnancy, in any form.

but don't let people tell you it's bad it's your baby your body

She asked if it was bad!

Nicotine in pregnancy is bad but cigarettes are worse due to the various other chemicals in them. Ecigs may be slightly better than traditional cigarettes but the research hasn't been done (due to them bring relatively new) to confirm what level of harm they do, whether pregnant or not.

Don’t let people tell you it’s bad - let science tell you.

Nicotine has been proven to be harmful in pregnancy, as pp said there isn’t much research on ecigs but if nicotine is shown to be harmful anyhow why take the risk. It’s not just your body it’s your baby’s future health

What are people's views on 2nd hand vaping during pregnancy? All of my ILs vape (at least they have stopped smoking!) but will vape indoors while I am sat there. They don't go OTT, a puff here and there.

There's just not enough research to say, but if it isn't in your home then I wouldn't make a huge deal of it, just ask them not to when you visit and I wouldn't be doing long (all day or overnight) visits. You've got to remember that walking on a main road has significant air pollution.
