I know I’m not in labour but please make me feel better

So I’m 37 weeks pregnant. I’ve been spotting a tiny tiny amount. Yesterday I had to to the toilet at least 5 times in the evening (TMI sorry - wasn’t a number 1). Ive been experiencing a lot of cramping but I know they aren’t contractions. Now
I’ve just been sick. Thursday I lost a bit of the mucus plug.

I rang the triage line and they just said to monitor it so I know I’m not in labour but I don’t finish work for another 2 weeks. How can
I feel better?

Tbh this could be early labour, doesn't sound dissimilar to how mine started and it lasted for days.

To make you feel better... I found that actually keep active, doing things that made me feel like I was being proactive really helped. e.g. doing all the laundry and cleaning, sorting out piles of crap around the house, having really good days out (weekend before I finally gave birth I was at a festival, was having early contractions whole time there too!)

If at all you are worried though, please do insist on triage taking a look at you and baby, especially considering you have been having a bit of spotting

Thanks!

It’s just making me feel really down as well :( I know my boss is pissed off with me and I feel like such a crappy employee atm

@TwittleBee how long did you feel like it before the labour started?

Is the baby still moving about as usual?

Ahhhmebowels · 21/01/2019 12:25

@doodlejump the movements feel a lot lighter although I would say they feel a little less frequent. I know that the baby is head down and facing my spin though which is having an impact

so sorry your boss is being a complete arse atm Ahhhmebowels

maybe getting off early would actually be better for you as then you'll be away from him.

Well I felt I was in early labour for a good few days, waters finally ended up breaking but wasnt in "established" labour for another 2 days after that!

it really can differ for everyone what labour is like though.

try your hardest to keep yourself busy as it does help pass the time, even if that is just planning on getting home to a nice take away with a good film when you get home or having a mooch around the shops.

any changes in movements Ahhhmebowels you should get checked out asap, don't dismiss it as your baby being further down (mine actually felt more obvious to me once he was engaged!)

please do go get checked out at triage now you've said that, especially with the bit of spotting xx
