Retching, is this a sign of labour?

Hi all, I am over 38 weeks pregnant, woke up this morning and had to rush to the bathroom as I was teaching uncontrollably. I didn't manage to bring anything up but I must have spent about 10 minutes over the toilet bowel.

I didn't have retching/throwing up as part of my morning sickness in the first trimester so this is new to me! Is this a sign that things are starting? Has anyone else had this and did you go into labour soon after?

I'm 39 weeks on Thursday and woke up feeling sick today and retching again at food which I haven't done since first trimester. Probably just wishful thinking though

Can’t speak from personal experience as I’m still waiting for my labour to start (39+5) but my mum was sick at the start of all 3 of her labours and said that’s how she knew they had started.
I’m expecting the same to happen to me as I have had hyperemesis and a very pukey pregnancy throughout. Hope you are feeling better and have your baby soon!

Did anything happen for you after the retching?
I woke up in the middle of the night and had to throw up and feeling nauseous all day but still no contractions or other labour signs..

I’ve had this over the past few days!

I’m 37 weeks but there’s not sign of the baby yet :(

Nope...nothing yet, and although I have some of my first trimester nausea back, I haven't had to rush to the toilet to retch like that again...

So who knows!! 🤷‍♀️ 😁
