Implantation bleeding - can it ever last a week and pregnancy continue?

I started what I thought was implantation bleeding on Monday, took a pregnancy test and it was positive. However the bleeding has continued now every day for 7 days. On day 5 it got heavier and I was referred to an early pregnancy unit (GP was worried it was an ectopic pregnancy). But the early pregnancy unit said they can't scan for 10 days as it is so early on they will not be able to tell if it is ok or not. Has anyone had bleeding for this long and it be ok??

It could have been a chemical pregnancy. Or are you still testing positive?

It was still positive on the most recent test, on Friday. Doctor said to retest this week on Monday and Friday.

Ah I see. Sorry. I don't think you can do much else but wait.
