Hi all

Looking for baby advice; what's the best breast pump, pushchair / travel system? Due in a couple of months & am a bit clueless! Travel system needs to be super light & great for public transport (tubes and buses - live in town and won't have access to a car). All suggestions welcomed!

Tia!

Can’t really advise on prams as the one is not the lightest and probably not very public transport friendly (silvercross pioneer) but

Posted too soon. Was going to say but I really recommend the medela swing breast pump. It seems to be the most well reviewed and recommended when I was deciding which one to buy.

I've bought a cossato giggle 2 as i tested them all and this was lightest and easiest to manoeuvre. As PP said the silvercross and other brands were really heavy and bulky in comparison.

No exact recommendations, but i do recommend going shopping for the pushchair/travel system if you can just to push them around and get a feel for them. As there is so much variety nowadays i went shopping over the weekend and tried out a few in mothercare and found one that i loved. You can see them online and think they are great but without seeing it in person i think its harder to get exactly what your looking for. And even if you dont plan on buying brand new you can see which brands you like before you start looking to buy second hand :) In regards to a breast pump i think it depends on how often you intend to use it etc. I used one solely to build up a reserve of milk for when i went back to work when my child was 7 months old and then i would pump once or twice a day at most (morning and evening) to replace the ones used in the days i worked. So a manual tommee tippee pump was fine for me, although i have read some bad reviews on it whereas i got on with it great so i guess it just depends. I would love an electric one but can't justify the spending when i can get on just as well with a manual. Good luck with the shopping :)

Another vote for the medela swing pump. I started using the swing but started to exclusively express so then bought the medela freestyle which is basically the double version to half the time spent expressing. Worth every penny- Amazing!
