Twins - what couldn't you do without?

My best friend is expecting twins in a few months. She already has a 5 year old DD. I'm wondering what to get her as a gift.

We're all really excited and I plan to pop in with food, you know easy stuff to simply warm, things like lasagne, casserole, actually l welcome ideas there too as she and her DH have hugely cut down on meat consumption and are pretty much pescatarian these days.

So, if you've had twins or know someone who has, what's that one thing you think "blimey this/that really helped". Is there anything?

Nothing to do with having twins but related to food... Fish pie?

DreamingofItaly · 20/01/2019 12:32

Ooh fish pie is a good one! Will make one of those for them. Thanks!

How much are you looking to spend? Is a baby carrier too much?

DreamingofItaly · 20/01/2019 12:47

I haven't thought of an amount, but she's a very good friend (sister like) so maybe £50-80. What sort of baby carrier would you recommend callmecrazybut?

With food, I haven't had my baby yet (22 weeks) but lovely friends brought food round when my dad died unexpectedly. The people who were the biggest blessing were the ones who brought things in disposable containers (like the double ones with cardboard lids) as it meant we didn't have to try and get their nice ovenware or plastic tubs back to them. Also less washing up is always good and foil can be recycled.

Not sure why it says double there. I was going for foil!!

Some more meal suggestions:

Thai green curry
Vegetarian chilli con carne (quorn mince)
Moussaka (again, quorn mince)
Fish pie
Shepherd pie (quorn mince)

A bean chilli is really easy to make and is vegan and will last a while! Quorn spag Bol I prefer of normal actually! Sorry don't have any present ideas!

I recommend Cook vouchers so they can pick what they want. Alternatively look at the cook website and steal their ideas Grin

Ooh I'm loving the food ideas. Will definitely go for some of those. Thanks!
