Just that really.

Who is the oldest person you know who gave birth to a healthy baby .

Yes I obviously have a reason to ask and no I dont want to share save to say I had a terrible pg mid 40s and have no baby to show for it.

Thanks ....give me some hope? Ridiculous as it seems.

Good luck op

My little sister was born when my mum was 46. She was an accident but a happy one. The doctors have her a 1/3 chance of downs and listed a number of serious health concerns they thought she would have but they were wrong. She’s now in her mid 20s, healthy, with a Cambridge degree and a fancy job in politics.

Josiebloggs · 19/01/2019 23:51

47 planned, natural conception, healthy 8 year old now.
46 had no idea, thought they had already been through the menopause and already had 2 children aged mid twenties.

FamilyOfAliens · 19/01/2019 23:52

My best friend at school.

She’s given up any thoughts of ever having a baby. Got pregnant at 49. She is knackered though!

OneStepMoreFun · 19/01/2019 23:54

Loads of mums at our primary school had babies in their mid forties. All healthy, gorgeous babies and the mums were all fine too.

WisdomOfCrowds · 19/01/2019 23:54

SIL had her kids at 41 and 43, both totally healthy.

tinstar · 19/01/2019 23:57

My godmother had children 5 and 6 when she was 46 and 48 (in the 1960s).

Mummylife2018 · 20/01/2019 00:14

40 - My Mum with me. My Dad was 45. The age gap and generational difference was so vast, I still resent them for it. They were already tired by the time I was born, let alone walking and learning to ride a bike. My childhood was boring as a result.

I'm now 34 with a 4yr old so have decided that if I've not had anymore by 36, that's it for me. I won't have anymore any older than that x

Dragon3 · 20/01/2019 00:19

Two women who had surprises at 48. Several at 45.

thenightsky · 20/01/2019 00:24

Hasn't Brigit neilson had a baby at 52?

ChangingStates · 20/01/2019 00:24

Someone I work with - 45
Friend- 46

Pennina · 20/01/2019 00:26

47 and 52 - different women I should say! Natural conception. Both healthy pregnancies and babies!

Me - 39 and 41. I've made sure that I keep myself very active and that my kids don't and haven't suffered by us being a bit older.

StableGenius · 20/01/2019 00:27

My school best friend was born when her mum was 48.

OhNoGroken · 20/01/2019 00:28

51, beautiful, healthy baby. Bit of a surprise Smile

clairestandish · 20/01/2019 00:28

The oldest I know who has become pregnant naturally with a healthy baby was 41 at conception, 42 at the birth.

I am skeptical about a lot of the celebrities in their late 40s/early 50s, I think it’s likely a fair few have had IVF using donor eggs.

That said, I do think the ‘facts’ peddled about declining fertility after 35, and how hard it is to get pregnant at 40 aren’t based on good or reliable data. I’m surprised nobody has done a recent, wide-scale and in-depth study on the matter.

Isadora2007 · 20/01/2019 00:29

Personal friend was 46 when healthy second dd was born.
Classmate of DH was 47 when what she thought was the start of menopause turned out to be twins. After 23 years of happy child-free marriage this was something of a shock. Albeit a pleasant one (or two!)

PippilottaLongstocking · 20/01/2019 00:31

Late 40s (can’t remember exactly how old) after 15yrs of ttc then giving up and focusing on her career. She found out she was pregnant just before she was due to move half way round the world for work, and had to cancel everything!

MrsMoastyToasty · 20/01/2019 00:34

A friend had a child at 49. She has 5 other children ranging from 25 down to 12. They are all full siblings.

MintyCedric · 20/01/2019 00:40

49...beautiful, healthy baby boy and her first child afaik.

CrazySexyKool · 20/01/2019 00:44

My sister had her first last year and she was 43 years old
