Just that really.

Who is the oldest person you know who gave birth to a healthy baby .

Yes I obviously have a reason to ask and no I dont want to share save to say I had a terrible pg mid 40s and have no baby to show for it.

Thanks ....give me some hope? Ridiculous as it seems.

A friend of a friend, who'd long since given up any hope of having children, found herself pregnant with twins at the age of 48. The pregnancy was straightforward and the twins are now coming up for 10 years old.

Sorry @rytonsister, sounds like you’ve had a tough time.

DP’s SIL was 41 and overweight, baby will be 2 in March and she’s perfectly healthy and very advanced for her age.

Halle Berry had a baby at 47!

MairzyDoats · 19/01/2019 23:24

My mum was born to a 44 year old mother, and this was before any kind of infertility treatments or anything I think she was a bit of a surprise!

YetAnotherThing · 19/01/2019 23:24

I am in a similar boat to you I suspect. My BIL (he’s 49) was born To his 48 yr old mother. There’s 30 years between him and his next sister (full sibling)!

  1. Much wanted second child (first at 42).
YetAnotherThing · 19/01/2019 23:25

(20 yrs between him and sister), bloody phone.

DramaAlpaca · 19/01/2019 23:25

Two friends had healthy babies at 45.

Another friend told me recently that both her grandmothers had their last child at 51, which is truly amazing.

A friend of my mum's had unplanned twins at 49. She’d been married for 30 years and had 2 sons in their late 20’s and it came as a bit of a shock when she went to the GP thinking she was menopausal and instead ended up with 2 little girls!

explodingkitten · 19/01/2019 23:33

Gran was 46 when she had my mum. Although I technically don't know her, she died before I was born.

leccybill · 19/01/2019 23:34

Best friend was 42.
Also my gran was 42.

  1. She needed IVF to get pregnant but everything after that was fine and straightforward. Her little girl is almost 5.
WatcherintheRye · 19/01/2019 23:34

Flowers and all good wishes, op.

Horses4 · 19/01/2019 23:35

kitty1013 · 19/01/2019 23:36

I was one month short of 45 when I had my little boy last September (natural conception)

All good wishes and luck to you xx

Ledkr · 19/01/2019 23:38

Gooseygoosey12345 · 19/01/2019 23:39

My SIL, 48, thought she was going through the menopause, turned out she was pregnant! She had a lovely little baby girl 😊 another niece for me!

Grace212 · 19/01/2019 23:41
  1. An accident.

also had a couple of mid 40s contacts who had accidents. Apparently women increasingly have accidents at this age because of all the stuff that's peddled about declining fertlity - apparently based on really really old data?

mum comes from a ginormous family and all the women there had a about a million DC (okay I'm exaggerating) into their 40s.

tinytemper66 · 19/01/2019 23:44

My sister at 42.

OrigamiZoo · 19/01/2019 23:44

Rachel Weisz, not that I know her but she has just had a baby aged 48.

JustHereForThePooStories · 19/01/2019 23:46

A colleague had her third baby recently at age 47. The baby was a very unexpected surprise.
