So I didn't want to find out the sex of my baby, I didn't find out last time, however I sure I saw a willy on my 20 week scan, I'm so worried I've ruined the surprise 😭😭 Im honestly not bothered at all what I have as I've always wanted two blues, but just curious if anyone else think they saw a willy and got a Minnie ?

Me! I was so upset that I had seen a willy - told the Dr who was scanning me the day before my c-section that we didn't want to know the sex. There it was... a willy!
When the baby was born, in my drugged delirious state I wouldn't believe my husband it was a girl - midwives had to confirm the sex for me.

Oh my !!! I'm just so upset thinking I've ruined my surprise, this has gave me faith that I could be wrong, at the end of the day it's still a surprise as I don't know if it was a willy or not 😂

As soon as the sonographer put the probe on my abdomen I could tell that dc3 was a boy. The whole screen was just penis.

I was convinced I saw a willy at our 20 week scan. We had a gender scan at 16 where they told us girl. We asked the technician at the 20 week if it was a willy and they moved the probe and it sort of disappeared. Seemed to just be a glitch in the image. They scanned from lots of different angles and confirmed it was a girl. We later had a 3d scan at 27 weeks where they confirmed girl. We haven't had her yet (32 weeks now) but 3 separate technicians have said girl so I honestly believe the "willy" was a glitch in the image. I wouldn't be too convinced either way at this stage. Unless you're trained in ultrasounds I guess it's really easy to see things that aren't there?

I was convinced with my second (after the sonographer gave it away with my first) that I saw a willy and was having a boy, even bought a blue hat.
Nope, was a girl. My husband still randomly bursts out laughing remembering the shock on my face when I realised we had a DD!

There’s so much going on in an ultrasound I wouldn’t trust anything that I thought I saw- everything is just a grey blur to me, and I don’t know if I’m looking at a penis, an umbilical cord or just general fuzziness.

Having said that, we went for a 3d scan for this pregnancy at 29 weeks and when they were doing the normal ultrasound the biggest pair of balls I’d ever seen just popped up on the screen. I still asked if it was a boy Grin

I didn’t think you saw a willy on a scan - it’s the testes you see which determines if boy or girl?

(Prepared to be told I’m wrong!!!)

A friend of mine pointed out the penis of her baby to the sonographer, who cleared her throat with an amused cough and told her that was the heart...

MissCalamity · 19/01/2019 23:39

Yes, me. I had to have an extra scan at 23 weeks as they couldn't get an accurate measurement of the spine at 20 weeks & I was convinced I saw a willy, didn't say anything to the sonographer but told DP & we weren't fussed what sex the baby would be.
So when she came out of the birthing pool and we checked between her legs it was a bit of a shock! Mind you I'm not a sonographer so goodness knows what it was a thought I saw! Grin
