I don't know how far along I am

Hey everyone I'm new to Mumsnet, I'm 17 and I'm expecting my first baby. Judging on my last 'period' I am 6+3 however this period only lasted 3 days where as it is usually 5/6 days and I'm starting to wonder if it really was a period, if it wasn't it would put me at 11+2 I've calculated. I see my midwife on the 30th jan if I mention this to her is she likely to send me for an early dating scan or not? Or will she just go off the earliest dates which could mean on my 12 week scan I would be 15+6?! I'm just looking for some advice

At the 12 week scan you are offered screening for some abnormalities. If you want those screenings then you will need to ring your midwife on Monday and dicuss your concerns.

Another vote for discussing with your midwife. I've been in this situation twice due to very irregular periods and each time they've sent me for a scan to find out how far along I am so hopefully they will with you. If you do go for one and it turns out to be about 6/7 weeks they may not be able to tell you much because they can't see that much. Good luck

I had a weird 'period' that was short.
I tested the next day and was pregnant. Mw said it was likely implantation bleeding so you could be a month further along than you think. Just let her know

I'd definitely discuss with midwife. My last two periods were really only one day bleeding and one day brown discharge but they were definitely periods based on my first scan.

I had a similar situation to you, normal period then very light one, did a test, BFP (yay!). Went to see the GP, explained the situation and they sent me for a scan. Turns out the light period was conception so at the scan they could tell I was 5 weeks rather than 9. I was sent in for another scan a couple of weeks later at just over 7 weeks to check everything.

You could be either, but I'd go back to the GP and push for a scan ASAP to find out.
