I find tablets very difficult to swallow and I’m struggling to get and keep down pregnancy vitamins. Please can anyone recommend some small ones.

Pregnacare do a liquid version Smile

I struggled to keep my pregnacare down so I've been using the liquid version! Just 2 teaspoons a day, tastes like orange, stays down Smile

Sorry, I just realised you said prenatal - these are tiny - www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B009DGO30K/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?keywords=trying+for+a+baby+vitamins&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1547902663&sr=8-1

Boots own are big, but they have added ginger which helps everything stay down!

I bought a pill cutter and just cut all mine in half (maybe even quarters for the big ones as I am really awful at swallowing pills!).

Also, have you tried swallowing them with food, rather than water? I find putting them in my mouth just before I swallow my food is much easier as the pill itself is harder to feel in my mouth (or push the pill into a small teaspoon of jam and swallow that).

I meant to say pregnancy vitamins!

I did not know there is a liquid version. Hurrah.

Thank you.

I was told the TTC ones are ok throughout pregnancy (better than nothing if you can't deal with big tablets like me!) but they don't have much vitamin d in them so I also have a chewy haliborange kids' calcium and vitamin d tablet as they have the other 5mg missing from the TTC ones. The haliborange are nicer than a lot of sweets and the TTC tablets are titchy so I'm sticking with it for now. I've been lucky though that I've not had any iron-related issues or anything so far so I'm aware if my next set of bloods show something up I may have to change my supplements ☹️

You can buy healthy start ones from select pharmacies which are tiny, they don’t contain everything in them like pregnacare etc but have all of the essentials in, folic acid, vit d etc. These were the only ones I could take due to HG for a while.
