32 weeks, 4th pregnancy. This is not what we want for the home birth.

Last 2 midwives (28 and 32 weeks) have been suspicious but not 100%. I have nearly all kicks low down and at the front but am rubbish at feeling baby's position myself.

I have to get a scan at 36 weeks to be sure.

Please, please let it turn. I want this baby at home so badly

good luck - still has lots of time to turn and they should offer you an external cephalic version if not. No point worrying about it until 36 weeks - much easier said than done I know. I am only 28 weeks but keep feeling a head at the top of the bump and worrying. feels hard like a ball and bounces back when you push on it.

I wonder if the positions for turning a breech baby are the same as for a posterior?

My baby was breech at 30 weeks. My midwife told me to lean forwards a lot a and avoid reclining positions (especially on the sofa!!) I also got one of those huge exercise ball thingies and sat leaning forward on it with my knees back.Hands and knees on the floor is recomended too!

After a week of this he had a HUGE movement which made me feel quite sick...but it did the trick and he is now head down, engaged and ready to rock!!!

Am doing hands and knees, forward leaning, hip swinging.

My head is running away with all the what ifs? and it's not pleasant.

People deliver breech babies vaginally, don't they?

This is what happened to me. Planned home birth then midwife realised baby was breech. Tried kneeling with bum in air for hours, tried ECV. Ended up with CS. I was really upset but the actual birth was very calm and a positive experience. I found out afterwards that my mw's sister had a vaginal breech and the baby died. That would explain why she freaked when she realised.

Hey Ceolas - don't panic. I found out the same when I was 32 weeks, but as everyone says, still plenty of time for baby to turn. I've been doing all the exercises and positions (including the one where you lie with your legs up an ironing board in an attempt to 'tip' the baby out of the pelvis!). To be honest, I've no idea whether it has turned or not - still feels pretty much the same - and I'm now 34 weeks. I've got a scan tomorrow so will know and seek some advice. Will keep you posted as I really want a home birth too. Will also try the moxibustion thing next week if baby in same position - I shall be your guinea pig! x

Hi ceolas, I hope you manage to get the baby turned. I've got a sneaky suspicion my baby is breech too, I've never had any movement above a point about 2inches below my belly button, all the kicking is around my bikini line. Mind you I've got aaaages yet (I'm 29 weeks) I hope things work out for you and you get your home birth.

I was in your position a few weeks ago (32wk appointment and he was footling breech) and he has turned now. I'm a home birth too so was very worried about c/section.

I was taking the pulsatilla, hands and knees for up to 1hr a night sometimes, sleeping on my left hand side and trying not to slouch at all.

I really hope baby turns for you, let us know what happens.
