Basically what the subject is. When I had my dd I was kept in hospital for 3 days before I could go home which was a horrible experience. I didn't have the best care and was very poorly from forcep and episiotomy delivery. Really would have recovered better at home. I'm really keen to go home with this baby as quickly as possible (providing there are no complications). Did you get to go home sooner after your second was born? Obviously providing it was a straight forward birth.

It depends entirely on the birth itself rather than how many previous babies you've had. Each one is different and treated as such.

I've had C sections for all mine but my first I was in for 2 days on the post natal ward after 36 hrs labour and emergency c section

Second I was in for 6 days on post natal ward after 4 hours labour and emergency c section as baby was poorly and needed antibiotics.

Third planned section and home after 24 hours

Sounds like some of you have lovely after care at your local hospitals which is really nice to hear. My hospital aftercare isn't so good unfortunately. Actually made me feel more poorly staying there than going home!

I stayed in for two nights after DC1 and DC2. Both traumatic horrible births. DC3 I discharged myself after 12 hours because the birth went fine and I just wanted to get home ASAP, they wanted me to stay for very little reason. DC4 was an elective CS and I was out the next morning (he was born at 4:30 pm).

I stayed in overnight with ds1 and didn't want to stay in with DS2 so left 6 hours after having him.
