21 month age gap?

Hiya. I recently found out I was pregnant which me and partner are over the moon about. We currently have a year old so he will be 21 months old when little one is born. Anyone else had this age gap? How does it work? Do they just slip into the routine that the older one is currently in or is it really difficult? Can't help but worry.

I can’t comment personally as currently pregnant with first baby, but my brother and I have a 22 month age gap and have a fantastic relationship because of being so close in age! Whilst I’m sure it was tricky for our parents, Mum always says she’s pleased she blasted the sleepless nights in one go and it was handy for sharing toys, pram etc.

Congratulations!

I've got a similar gap and it was a doddle going from 1 to 2 as opposed to having your first. Newborns don't do much. The lack of sleep didn't seem as hard (that said my first was a dreadful sleeper so I could have coped with anything). You'll also be experienced at caring for babies.
There will be different advantages to large v small age gaps but its really not as tough as having your first.

Thanks for your comments. Really helpful :) yes I guess, having them close together I thought is good because your already in the baby mode lol. Xx
