Significant bump really early!!?

I am only 16 weeks but my bump is huuuuge. Is this normal? Tell me it's normal and that I'm not growing some kind of giant inside me.

Before pregnancy I was a fairly slim size 8/10 (Uk). Worked out 5 times a week and I'm also quite tall at 5"8. I thought I wouldn't show for aaaages. Worried I've been hitting the carbs too hard.

Don't worry, everyone shows differently. A friend of mine developed an obvious bump at 8 weeks with her first pregnancy whilst I developed later, both same height, similar build and activity level.

Heyha · 17/01/2019 07:58

Just wanted to say I'm the same, similar previous activity level and build so I think it must be a case of not having much room to fit everything in!

Mention it at your 16 week appointment if you're worried but she didn't even pass comment on mine so it can't have been too outrageous looking 😂

I’ve got a bump showing this week and I’m at 8 weeks but it’s my second and you can show a month sooner with subsequent pregnancies.

IlluminatiParty · 17/01/2019 08:04

I agree it might be because you are very slim that the bump is more obvious. I had similar first time around.

loveskaka · 17/01/2019 08:19

U might be having a very long baby hehe.
U look great! X

With my first I showed really early on and had a bump similar to yours at 16 weeks! My son ended up really long on 98th centile! Although not a big baby, just long!
Now in 2nd pregnancy at 30 weeks and I didnt really show until way later on, around 6 month mark, which is usually not the norm.

You're quite slim so a bumo is probably more obvious on you as well. Enjoy the bump!x

I was like that at 16 weeks too. Size 6-8 5ft4 so I didn't really expect to show for a lot later. It wasn't too bad in the morning but by the evening I looked about 30weeks.

Karigan195 · 17/01/2019 10:50

Was googling why I’m starting to show at 8 weeks (Internet seems to agree it’s because it’s a second) and found this. I don’t know wether to be amused or a bit disgusted by the slutty clothes comments but peeing myself laughing so thought I’d share

PBobs · 17/01/2019 11:17

Yeah. I have a nice neat bump in the mornings at 19 weeks. By evening I'm a balloon.

pandechocolate · 17/01/2019 13:11

I had this too. I'm now 18 and a half weeks and have quite a big bump - bigger than family members who are 7 months pregnant! The 'are you sure there aren't two in there?' comments are coming thick and fast (I'm so tired of them already).

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 17/01/2019 14:00

I would have been happy with that bump at 16 weeks lol this was me at 16 weeks I'm almost double that now at 28+4

SoyDora · 17/01/2019 14:03

I looked at that and thought it was fairly small for 16 weeks, I had a huge bump at that point this time round!
Everyone shows differently depending on your build/length of torso etc. It looks well within the realms of normal to me.

RMarieClaire · 17/01/2019 18:23

Phew - thank you. I'd been getting a bit bloated over the course of the day but in last few days, whoop there it is! I'm quite excited to have a bump to be honest - just worried it was less baby more baked goods :)
