They are all nice names...
But your baby, so do what feels good.
Also say to everyone no name till madam arrives...
Mine was changed 3 mins after birth, as the name suddenly didn't fit.

Springmummy19 · 15/01/2019 13:42

I agree with PP although from he above mentioned, my fav is Ayda

Courtneybrown · 15/01/2019 13:46

Haha yes i think having a couple names and picking when she's born would be best here as no one is going to agree anyway.

I sort of want to let my dad have his pick as every time he's picked a name for the boys my mum has knocked him out of the water lol.

But at the same time i love ayda and darci but my mother & dp hates them lol x

I dont know what I'm having but I fell in love with 2 names, I refuse to tell DH what they are in case he says no as I have my heart set on them so I am waiting until baby arrives. I mentioned to him that if it is a girl, she will have his late mothers name as a middle name which I think he was so happy with, he'l agree with any firs name I pick

CoffeeChocolateWine · 15/01/2019 14:01

I don’t mean this unkindly, but why would your parents get to pick the name? This is yours and your DP’s child. I found it hard enough finding a name (or 3) that DH and I agreed on never mind 4 people. I did get my parents’ opinion on them which some people don’t (!) but I wouldn’t have let them choose!

From those names I like Ayda, Orla, Esmi (although haven’t come across that spelling before) and Eva.

Courtneybrown · 15/01/2019 14:09

I dont know how it transpired that my mum and dp picked my sons names.

This is why i want the most say this time as they would have her going about with a name like honey suckle or something lol and blossom although lovely i don't think it is a baby name.

My mother also added in miley lol just to be annoying see i like esmi at first but my aunties called me tacky for liking it as it's a common name now.

I really like Darcey (and maybe you could have Alba as a middle name, if you really want your dad to have some input).

Courtneybrown · 15/01/2019 15:04

See if you lovely people where my dp and parents lol the decision wouldn't be hard atol i love ayda and darcey my favourite top two

my mum seems to be coming up with all singers names arianna & miley like beautiful but not unique :/ i don't want my daughter to have the same name as everyone else in her class lol x

@Courtneybrown i don't understand how you have had 3-4 children and haven't picked 1 name?? Tell them to piss of and have the name you want 😂

WhatASmashingBlouse · 15/01/2019 15:49

Ayda- not too keen since Robbie Williams plastic faced wife was all over X factor.
Darci - Spelt Darcey it's lovely
Orla - very nice

Harper - ok if you don't mind everyone mentioning the Beckhams.
Farrah - lovely and unusual

Alba - My favorite of your selection!
Esmi - no. Spell it Esme and it's lovely
Aria - there's lots around but it's ok. I'd use it as a middle
Arianna - I'm not keen
Blossom - I actually really love Blossom but as a middle name as you can tend to be more creative without it being weird.
Mia - ok, a bit boring, loads around
Ava - see above
Eva - see above

Courtneybrown · 15/01/2019 18:10

Haha i just wanted to please to many people and couldn't hence they picked lol.

I love darcey ... everyone keeps sayings its a mans name.

Love farrah too thats why i like it .. its unusual.

Alba my fathers choice I've came around too and again I've not heard of to many alba's.

The others are lovely they just dont jump out to me.

Ayda , darcey , farrah and alba are the ones i keep coming back to.

My oldest son also wants to call her esme along with his dad.

Personally i like alba because all my kids have there dads last name and alba is my dads favourite feels like a part of him will live on in her he also resuscitated my 12 day old baby during his cardiac arrest so if it wasn't for him my son wouldn't be here.

I just think it would be lovely to either have it as her main name or middle name haha x

Spunkymonkey2019 · 15/01/2019 18:43

Esme would be my choice. I love it.

Eatmycheese · 15/01/2019 18:46

Ayda is lovely

TheSubtleKnifeAndFork · 15/01/2019 18:56

I LOVE Alba. It's gorgeous. I'd consider it myself - if I ever have a girl - but the only Alba I ever knew was incredibly annoying and the connection ruins the name for me unfortunately!

KateTTC123 · 15/01/2019 20:55

We have alba lined up for ours if she's a girl; it's a lovely name :)

Rodenhide · 15/01/2019 20:58

Darcy and Orla are nice.

Courtneybrown · 15/01/2019 21:52

Haha this is the problem i have there all beautiful and i can't choose alba is growing on me more and more but my mother and dp don't like it but i don't give a toss considering they chose my boys names ... so again i think my runners up would defo be ayda , darcy and alba but i know my dp will want esme in there too .. so 4 names and only one baby haha xx

I'm 21 weeks pregnant with a girl and I'm naming her Theodora. ☺️

Opheliasgoldenwine · 16/01/2019 13:10

Oral is gorgeous, I like all of them tbh. Smile

Are you aware that Alba means Scotland? Don't want to sound patronising if you do! Also don't know if anyone else said as I haven't read it, apologies if they have.

On a separate note, does anyone remember the thread where the OP thought she invented the name Farrah and was upset someone in her town used it?Grin

Don35 · 16/01/2019 13:35

What about isla? Just to throw another name into the mix. My bumps is a boy, but if I was carrying a girl then that's what we would have picked

LadyFromLondon · 16/01/2019 14:03

I love the name Darcey. Aria is pretty cute too.

Courtneybrown · 16/01/2019 15:06

Haha yes im aware alba is scottish hehe and don35 you just had to that was her name right up until last week as it was a name we all agreed on then everyone was calling there babys isla and it put me off lol.

Lol someone thought they invented the name farrah pmsl.

Orla is my name if she has red hair as my partner has red in his hair as his mother was a red hed and i think orla is beautiful but can just picture her orla with red hair i dont know why lol.

My boys have dark golden brown
.

im dark haired dark eyed.

For dark hair i like darcey , ayda and i suppose my dads like alba lol.

Theodora is beautiful.

Dont get me wrong i like aria i just think like isla its going to be pretty overused pretty quickly.

Alba is also a very popular Spanish name. It means 'Dawn' in Spanish and Italian. In Latin it means 'white'.

Courtneybrown · 16/01/2019 21:48

Alba is beautiful.

my family seem to think she'll hate me if i call her darcy as it's a mans name apparently x

Darcy is actually a surname. Also the ballerina Darcey Bussell is an excellent namesake for a little girl!
