All day sickness

Hello ladies

Hope everyone’s well. I’ve been struggling with morning sickness since week 6 (now approaching week 11). I’m sick most days but generally in the morning. However I feel sick all day long unless I eat really plain foods constantly. I’ve tried loads of things to ease it but it’s making me so miserable because I feel so ill all of the time. Can anyone recommend anything that worked for them? Everyone I know who has kids didn’t get morning sickness so they don’t really get it.

I’m not sure if I’m being a wimp and need to toughen up but I just feel dreadful. I’ve been going to work and carrying on but it’s really getting me down.

Any advice most gratefully appreciated!

I've been in a similar position. Have you spoken to/been to your doctor's? They can give you meds to help.

Ice chips/ice water helped me

It's rubbish. I haven't thrown up, but I feel sick most of the day.

  • sips of lemon squash
  • haribo-type sweets
  • soft bite-size fruit like grapes
  • lots of rest
  • deep breaths and, when feeling a bit better, some fresh air

Oddly, I also feel much better with my feet up, e.g. on a footstool or sitting up in bed. I work from home so I can do this when I can.

I suffer from HG, have done with both pregnancies the whole way through.

Things with ginger in have been good and I kept a packet of the sea band ginger lozenges in by bag for emergencies!

the only thing that sort of helped was ginger biscuits. I'm 26 +2 and I've sickness throughout, It was usually 3-4 times a day, basically anything I ate came back up within half an hour, it has gotten better over the past few weeks but it is still there.

The doctor ave me cyclizine but it made me so drowsy I juts stopped taking tablets and went back to ginger biscuits.. oh and mint polos was another, I keep about 2 tubes of them in my bag.

I was exactly in your shoes, I really feel for you :(

Try our this website www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk and on the get help part there's also an employment part.

See your doctor as you could ask for anti-sickness? (Although I tried 2 different ones and they didn't help, but everyone is different).

Lots of water, ice lollies, cold drinks, soft mints and plain biscuits are what i constantly ate.

It got a lot easier for me around weeks 16/17 although I'm 28 now and still suffering a bit, but no where near as much.

Wishing you luck with it :)

Thank you ladies, great advice :)

I hope for those of you still suffering that it eases soon! It will be worth it in the end :)
