Hoping anybody can reassure me.

Just noticed dark red blood, still there as I wipe, sorry TMI.

Do I assume this is the end now or is there still hope? I don't have a midwifes number yet so I don't know who to contact.

So upset.

I had bleed in my first three pregnancies. Pregnancy 1 and 3 ended in miscarriage and pregnancy 2 is currently splashing in the bath.

You can’t do anything to change the outcome. Use sanitary towels not tampons and tomorrow ask your GP to refer you to the early pregnancy assessment unit in your area.

If your bleeding gets very heavy or you are in lots of pain then go to a and e. The only thing they can do is rule outs of infection/eptopic.

The EPAU will either scan you and/or take bloods 48 hours apart to see if your levels of HGC (pregnancy hormone) are rising.

BeeYouTiful · 14/01/2019 18:37

@Jackshouse Thankyou for your help. I'll do just that.

I had a mc at about the same stage in 2017... started as spotting and turned bright red. Equally i had spotting in my current pregnancy and i am.now 27w.

The only way to tell is to wait it out and see i am afraid. If you call the mw they will unlikely do anything. Do you have a digital Pg test? Should be showing 2-3 or preferably3+ if your HGC is still rising.

If you get a temperature or unbearable pain, go to AandE. Otherwise you will just have to see how you go. Sending you a big hug x

BeeYouTiful · 14/01/2019 18:53

Thankyou @39Suzy.

Just about to have a bath and sort myself out. Hoping it stops and it's all a big nightmare.

Blaming myself as I was really poorly yesterday with migraines and sickness.

Never had a bleed in my two previous pregnancies so I'm just assuming the worst I'm afraid. So heartbroken.

@beeyoutiful fingers crossed for a positive outcome x

BeeYouTiful · 14/01/2019 20:40

Thankyou all.

Bleeding seems to have stopped I don't have any pain other than my body where I spent the day wretching my insides out yesterday!

Migraine/Morning sickness.

Praying for some good news.

Contact your GP in the morning and they will refer you for an early scan. I had a bleed with my second pregnancy and all was ok. Xx

JBCG · 14/01/2019 21:30

I had quite a lot of bleeding and cramping throughout my first trimester (currently 16+4). I know how terrifying it can be! Fingers crossed all works out well for you. No new advice from me just reiterating what others have said about going to a&e if it gets heavy and here for a handhold x

Jackshouse · 15/01/2019 06:54

It sounds positive if the bleeding has stopped. You can’t chase a miscarriage with vomiting and a migraine which I’m guessing you did t choose. 1/4 pregnancies end in miscarriage they are a regular occurrence sadly. Btw vomiting and migraine are pregnancy symptoms.

LauraBrown1 · 15/01/2019 10:53

@BeeYouTiful fingers crossed everything is okay for you! X

BeeYouTiful · 15/01/2019 11:05

@LauraBrown1 Thankyou! I am going to the EPU at 2pm this afternoon after seeing my GP this morning. In a way I feel blessed I've never had to go to an early pregnancy unit before, but I don't know what to expect.

Do they do blood tests etc to check HCG levels or will they attempt a scan? I am currently 6+4. Apart from my gush last night around 6pm I'm currently sitting comfortable with nothing since but I daren't move.

Such a horrible time, but as many have said nothing I do can change the outcome. Ironically, I work in an Accident & Emergency Department and none of my colleagues know yet so I'm relieved I haven't had to go there for any of this.

@BeeYouTiful I'm not sure exactly but I imagine they would do a scan for you to check everything is okay. Good luck x

BeeYouTiful · 15/01/2019 16:45

Had my scan this afternoon, although there wasn't much to see. Having read a bit about early scans on here I wasn't entirely hopeful to see anything.

What I did see was a beautiful sac, measuring right, looking as it should where it should be. The sonographer also noted the bleed, which she could see separately. It could bleed again, or it could as she said "dry and bruise up"

Heading back in a couple of weeks for another scan where we should hopefully see a little heart beating away.

I feel like I'll be able to sleep (well not really) tonight.

@beeyoutiful that is brilliant news. Fingers crossed for the next few weeks 😊

Thegirlwithnousername · 16/01/2019 14:25

Glad you had good news.
Fingers crossed you have no more bleeding. It's so awful seeing blood on the tissue paper!

Gobletoffire · 16/01/2019 14:25

Good news OP - fingers crossed for next week.

I don’t want to try and give you too much hope, but when a close friend was pregnant she retched/coughed that violently through morning sickness that it actually caused a bit of a bleed from the stress/force on her body. Her little one is now 10 months. Could just have been something like that x

dottyp0104 · 22/01/2019 16:22

Hi @BeeYouTiful I am 6 + 2 today and just started light bleeding today, no other symptoms. Just wondered how you got on

BeeYouTiful · 22/01/2019 16:32

@dottyp0104 I haven't had any bleeding since that one episode. I had a scan the following day which showed the pregnancy sac in the correct place unscathed. The bleed could also be seen. My follow up scan is a week today where we should hopefully see a lot more.

The sonographer said it's common to have a bleed in early pregnancy however, every bleed and individual are different so it would be best to get checked out.

Wishing you all the best Thanks

Lovely to see a positive outcome here. Been following this thread as experiencing some spotting/bleeding as well. Have a scan tomorrow so will find out soon If it’s good news or bad news. Hope everything goes well with the rest of your pregnancy xx

BeeYouTiful · 29/01/2019 18:03

Good luck tomorrow @CJ2003 sometimes there are positive outcomes, just keep thinking that x

CJ2003 · 30/01/2019 14:37

Thank you. Had my scan today should be 7+1 but the sac only measuring 5+4. Either my dates are wrong or the pregnancy isn’t viable. Need to go back in 2 weeks for another scan xx

melg93 · 30/01/2019 17:00

@BeeYouTiful

So great to hear that news ❤️❤️

I feel like I’m in a similar situation

The 1st day of my last period was 26th December gone. I Done a test on the 16th and got a faint second line. I then did a CB digital on 19th and it said preg 1-2 weeks. I start bleeding on the 24th for 2-3 days and did another test yesterday and it said not pregnant. I'm quite worried and confused! I rang the pregnancy unit in the hospital and they said there was nothing they could do but to monitor the bleeding and test again in 10 days.

My mam bled every month on my sister and it took almost 6 months to show up that she was actually pregnant. So never thought anything of it because she got her period every month and negative tests. This was 34 years ago times are a lot different now.

I’m so confused at the minute and don’t know what to think
