Hello

So I’m 36 weeks and am randomly throwing up again (yay fun) but when I’ve been sick m, I’ve had like diamonds or glitter floating in my eyes when being sick.

I’m not describing it very well but has anyone else experienced this?

Do you have it at any other times? I think you need to get checked out- one of the symptoms of pre eclampsia is flashing lights in eyes. Have you had a headache? Any swelling?

Best call the midwife and get checked.

I have been getting headaches but nothing like the migraines I had in the second trimester. They’ve been short lived when I get them.

My blood pressure has been fine up
Until this point but I’ve got a midwife appointment tomorrow. Shall I raise it with her?

Please raise it. I had preeclampsia with my first but my BP was never high. The blood tests showed issues and I was induced at 35 weeks, DS was much smaller than he should have been and was in NICU the SCBU for over 2 weeks. I was kept in for a week after birth having blood tests and liver scans.

Yes. Phone midwife. That's pre eclampsia.
I got the flashing lights, but didn't get headaches. You've got both....so you had better see the experts today.

It could be the early symptoms of pre eclampsia. Don't wait till tomorrow, call the midwife now to be on the safe side.

I started getting ocular migraines when pregnant, it was like I was looking through a kaleidoscope, horrible and really scary x

flameycakes · 14/01/2019 12:47

And call midwife asap xxxx

Iswallowtoothpaste · 14/01/2019 13:03

@Kickykickykickkick definitely raise it with your MW and get checked over.

I had this in the early days of pregnancy very occasionally though. A couple of times around 13/14 weeks but BP was fine. I also had it whilst in labour with DD (41+3) and I was vomiting.

I wouldn’t worry unduly if it’s only happening when you’re being sick BUT definitely get checked out, just in case.

You need to see your midwife ASAP. I'm sure it will be fine but you need to see someone as soon as you can.

Thanks all!

Spoke to my midwife. She doesn’t think it’s preeclampsia. She was concerned because my iron is low (even though I still take pregnancy vitamins) so I’ve been given iron tablets.

She seems to think that it’s my blood pressure dropping when I’m being sick and the low iron count.
