Third trimester, the end seems so far!

I've literally only just hit the third trimester but can't help feeling the end still seems so far away lol I am hoping with all the preparation I still have to do and my other dc to look after the time will pass quickly but at the same time I feel like I've already been pregnant forever!

Is anyone else feeling the same? Being a single mum I can't book any nice things to do to break the time up but does any one have any ideas or little projects they are thinking of doing in the final weeks? Anyone else just feel like having a chat or moan/compare aches and pains lol

I also feel like I’ve been pregnant forever... so much more sore and tired this time round, and constantly seem to have a cold! I managed to bag 5 Munro peaks in the 3rd trimester with my first... this time I can hardly walk to the end of the street without being in pain with Spd and sciatica 😩
I’m also already about the size I was when I gave birth to DS... I still have 10 weeks to go so dread to think how huge my bump will be at the end 😂

TickleMeEmo · 14/01/2019 11:59

And piles.... oh god the piles!!!! 😩

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 14/01/2019 12:19

Yes with my first baby I probably could have conquered mount everest by the time you get to baby 5 it gets harder each time lol luckily I have never had piles so I sympathise and hope you get some relief soon. The sleepness nights are now begining and it's starting to take its toll but I feel like I shouldn't really complain as so far I've managed to avoid leg cramps and heartburn lol

I feel the same!! I thought this bit would go fast but I was so wrong 🙈 I'm 31 weeks and 9 weeks to go feels like forever. I shouldn't really complain as I've not really had any issues other than back ache and feeling exhausted

Springmummy19 · 14/01/2019 12:35

when are you in the 3rd trimester?

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 14/01/2019 12:45

Different websites will tell you different weeks but NHS say third trimester starts at week 28.
@sun19 is this your first? Yes the backache is a nightmare but the never being comfy isn't much better. Just sittingi have to change position every ten minutes now. Then just as you start to nod off baby decides it's time to play lol

Me too!!

Just got into 3rd trimester last Saturday and was so excited to get past that point, but just hit me today that it’s still almost 3 months away. I feel massive, I’ve got PGP and started waddling already. Dread to think what I will be like in 12 weeks!! I really want to book a long weekend somewhere but we’ve spent all our money on baby stuff, I’m sick of work already and spent all morning googling ‘is 32 weeks too early for maternity leave’ 😂

Plus, took the day off today for my Mothercare delivery and they’ve sent me the wrong stuff!

Very impressed with you ladies that already have children, I could not cope!!

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 14/01/2019 13:08

@wordie sorry but I couldn't help but laugh 😂 what had you ordered? I don't think 32 weeks is too early, when do you finish? I'm the opposite I feel more for people who work especially full time, you can have a break if you want to or just put your feet up, you can't spontaneously burst in to tears when your emotions get too much and you have people staring and making comments all the time. Being at home with children is tough and demanding but if I'm having a rough day they can usually be bribed to snuggle under a duvet with me and Disney films haha

Yes this is my first! I'm planning to work until 37 weeks although I've been questioning that decision recently!

Ijustwanttofeelbeautiful · 14/01/2019 14:10

I’m not quite 3rd trimester, 25w, but can I join anyway?! I feel so exhausted, barely sleeping, PGP, heartburn, and constant headaches... can’t believe I have another 15 weeks to go! I’m due to finish work in 9 weeks but am trying to think of ways to bring it forward! Much Cake is needed over here.

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 14/01/2019 14:16

@ijustwanttofeelbeautiful of course you can join the more the merrier! I find it hard to keep up with the antenatal boards but would love to just have peoe to talk to you in the run up to the birth. Wow it sounds like your already struggling, and 9 weeks till maternity will feel a life time if your not feeling great. Is it a physically demanding job? I always think about what I would do if I was working and took maternity, part of me thinks I'd work right up till the end so I could have more time with baby but I also know how hard the last 10-15 weeks can be and not sure I would cope.

Ijustwanttofeelbeautiful · 14/01/2019 15:45

Thank you! I liked the antenatal boards but then everyone migrated to a Facebook group which isn’t for me, so I was left behind!

No my job isn’t physically demanding, but I have a 2hr commute each way. It’s part time but the other days I’m with DS (just turned 1) so no rest for me! Wish I could bribe DS to snuggle under the duvet Grin

In my first pregnancy I worked up until 36 weeks but I didn’t struggle physically like I am this time around. Emotionally was a different story!

Wordie · 14/01/2019 16:11

@exhaustedmummy1811 I had to laugh too otherwise with my hormones I would definitely cry. I’d ordered the cotbed, mattress and Tutti cozzee. They’ve sent the wrong colour cotbed. Not the end of the world but it turns out Mothercare customer service is terrible!!

I’m not due to finish till 37 weeks on annual leave then mat leave from 39 weeks but I’ll see how I feel.

Just buying all the stuff now and getting sorted. How is everyone else doing for buying things? Do you already have most things?

X

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 14/01/2019 17:01

@ijustwantobebeautiful Ahh yes the struggles of pregnancy with a toddler! My youngest are 4 and just turned 3. My 4 year old was born 2nd of September so just missed the cut off for starting school and we only have one in take so she is still home. But my three year old is still into everything and can't be left alone for more than 5 minutes haha but food and Disney can appease her for short amounts of time.
Don't even start on emotions, mine are all over the place haha

@wordie I would have been very upset with it being the wrong colour, I cried when I found out my daughter was a shepard in the nativity as I didn't want her to wear brown lol so the wrong colour cot would have been the end of the world haha but all our bedroom furniture is white so it needs to match. Did they sort it for you?
I've got my pram (absolute bargain on Facebook £20) carseat, steriliser, one pack of nappies, and about 6 outfits. Oh and these that I won on a raffle (cost me £3 😂😊)

Just a few more things left to buy, we kept most stuff from DS (18 months) so luckily not as much to buy this time round. However we have just ordered a next 2 me crib as DS still ends up in bed with us most nights so will be good to have a semi-separate space for new baby 🙈 and it’s the one thing I wish I had got first time round!

Ijustwanttofeelbeautiful · 14/01/2019 19:06

We’ve bought precisely nothing for the new baby so far Confused need to get a double pushchair, cot, nappies and some outfits... other than that, I think we have pretty much everything we need from when DS was younger.

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 15/01/2019 16:15

Afternoon ladies, hope everyone is well. I just wanted to se if anyone was feeling similar. For the last couple of weeks when walking I've had a dull ache in the bottom of my bump and back. Today I walked a little further with my mum and now I'm in agony, all across the bottom of bump wrapping around my back. It's a constant pain and even after sitting for an hour hasn't helped ease it. It feels like there is so much pressure down there, I remember feeling similar pains with my others but not till right at the very end. There is no way I can cope with this pain for another 12 weeks. I've looked into spd and pgp but don't think it's that as I haven't got any pain in my hips. Also if I sit for more than half and hour the pain is agony and I wave to walk it out for 5 to ten mins.

39 weeks here with no3 and quite frankly I’m bloody miserable.
SPD, heartburn, aches & pains I’ve never felt before and I’m anaemic so struggling with the effects of that too.
Still need to pack bags and get organised too! Meh.

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 15/01/2019 16:32

@christmas so sorry to hear that, it sounds miserable. At least the end is in sight for you now. I'm dragging my feet on packing my bag and a few other prep bits, I figure it will give me something to do when the weeks start to drag towards the end

Can I join too? Turned 28 weeks today. Planned to stop work at 37 weeks but my jo involves a lot of walking around during the day, plus travel and Im starting to think 37 weeks is a bit ambitious! Haven't started at all on getting stuff for the hospital bag, feel like I probably should.

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 15/01/2019 18:36

Hi @charlie how are you feeling at 28 weeks? I can't believe how much pain I am in already. You must be due on my sons birthday 9th April? If your walking around or on your feet for long periods I think 37 weeks is pretty ambitious haha I'm leaving my bag till at least 34 weeks i think

Bellafreud · 15/01/2019 21:16

Hello! I’d like to join too - was 28 weeks yesterday! Can also join loaning stakes, had horrendous heartburn and indigestion most of the pregnancy and been recently getting pgp in my lower back too. Can’t believe it’s less than 12 weeks to go. It’s my first so don’t have a little one to look after already but do have a fairly full on full time job!!!

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 15/01/2019 21:48

It starts getting so hard around this time doesn't it? And all you want is to feel normal again and be able to put on a pair of shoes with out struggling haha 12 weeks seems so far yet so near it's weird. I keep thinking I've got ages to get everything ready but if I put it off to long I'll run out of time lol hope you get some relief soon @bella I've just had a soak in the bath an think ill head to bed soon hopefully feel a little less achy tomorrow
