Pregnancy notes

On the front of my pregnancy notes it says I should take them with me everywhere. I am 18 weeks and currently don’t as I figured if something went wrong then there is not a lot they can do about it anyway. When did others carry their notes with them all the time? Thanks

Do you travel to work by car? I used to keep them in my car. I had the emergency contact numbers in my phone but I was low risk and had no problems in pregnancy.

I only carry them if I’m travelling and won’t be near home... I’m more worried about losing or damaging them by carrying them everywhere. I’m 38+4 now

Mine are at home. I'm never more than 20/30 mins from home and I'm much more likely to lose/ damage them in the car!

I'm 25 weeks and I've only just started remembering to take them, I generally just make sure they're in the back of the car if I'm going anywhere as I am a bit paranoid about falling over or being in a crash or something alone.

I was told I need to take my notes to every appointment regarding my antenatal care as my midwife and consultants refer to previous notes when deciding on medication/ care, and then they update and add to my notes.

I have never been asked or even heard of having to take them everywhere.

I take mine is we go out of the local area, when I went into the pregnancy assessment unit recently my husband picked my notes up from home and bought them in with him as I went straight from work, that worked fine as he was there before the Dr saw me anyway.

I started taking mine at 24ish weeks as the foetus became potentially viable. I put them in a thick plastic wallet and carried them in a tote bag. I told a friend at work where they were kept in case I randomly collapsed at work.

KarenDarling · 13/01/2019 22:35

With my twins I remember taking them everywhere from 20weeks ish.
I'm 16 weeks now with a high risk pregnancy (single baby) and taking them out with me when I remember.

Thanks everyone. I’ll put them in my car as I generally drive everywhere anyway :)
