Hi all!

FINALLY had my BFP! I’m around 5weeks3days I’d say :)

It’s going to be the longest month or so if my life waiting for my 12w scan! Already been to my local urgent care centre this morning with pains that they claim is a UTI but informed me to look out for ectopic (very reassuring, NOT)

I’m absolutely petrified and have booked in an early scan in just over a week but how the hell am I supposed to feel relaxed?! :( just constantly thinking of the worst!

Hey it's such a nerve wracking time! I swing from feeling excited and happy to feeling worried and panicking. I went to the EPU last week as had a bit of spotting and as I've never been through this before I panicked! Luckily for a scan and saw a little heartbeat.
I'm also getting an early scan (which I'd booked prior to the spotting) for a few weeks time. No way could I just want until 12 weeks! I try to remember that whatever happens, there's nothing I can do so just trying to enjoy the moment! (Doesn't stop an googling most night my symptoms!)

Congratulations and good luck!

Aw the heartbeat ❤️ That’s what I can’t wait for! I think my problem is we’ve been trying for 16 months and I just can’t help but worry! It’s so precious isn’t it! Now I’m getting bad period cramps in one side so just hoping that’s normal!

@GWat06 I've had on off period like cramps for a few week now. Quite unnerving but pretty common! Also it's not me last few days how tired I am and on off nausea not sure what I want to eat!

GWat06 · 13/01/2019 15:36

Oh really?! I constantly want to eat! My pain is starting to get higher up my abdomen! How awful is the first bloody trimester?! Well I’ve never been pregnant before mind but it’s going to be the longest time of my life!

We took 15 months to conceive. It does add a bit of extra pressure to the whole situation!

If you’re getting cramps in one side, you should probably get that checked out. It’s unlikely that it’s an ectopic pregnancy, because they are quite rare, but if it is, you want to get it fixed as soon as possible!

(Also, they scan you, if it looks like ectopic. I was scanned, and it was very reassuring to see that there was a baby in the right place, especially as I was leaving the country for the week not long afterwards! I feel very fortunate to have had a bonus scan at about 6 weeks - much less of an agonising wait until the 12-week scan! I’m 17+4 now, and into a different phase of anxiety, waiting for the 20-week scan. So much fun!)
