Hi all,
I've posted a few times about the size of baby.
I've had to be seen a few times as baby occasionally has quiet days. I have an anterior placenta and a lot of it seems to be down to baby's position on that day.
All monitoring has been fine, but it's policy to have a scan when there has been more than one episode of reduced movements.
A few weeks ago I had a scan, which showed the baby to be way above the 90th centile. All tests (including GTT) have come back normal and they are happy that baby is all in proportion, fluid is normal etc. But I am now seeing a consultant due to the size.

I had another scan yesterday (I'm 32+ weeks) and baby is approx 5lb 13oz!!! I'm getting fantastic care at the hospital, but just wondering if anyone else has had anything similar? I'm just wondering how common this is?

(Btw-I has a scan at around 8 weeks so my dates definitely can't be off by much).

I’m in the same boat! I’ve had 6 scans since 12 weeks and baby has always been on 95/97th percentile. Last scan was 33 weeks and the baby was 6lbs. They decided not to scan anymore for size after my second GTT came back negative, they just said they won’t let me go over term because of his size but they don’t seem too concerned!

Don’t worry at this stage is my advice. At one point they projected a 12 pounder for me! At scan when I was overdue said well over 10 pounds. Out came what was to me a wee eight pound three ounce baby.

Thank you both.
Yeah the consultant seems quite relaxed about it all, basically just said we will rescan later on but if the weight continues to increase as it has done he may recommend not going as far as my due date.
I'm not exactly huge (neither is DH) so it was just a shock 😂

My baby measured big for the scans and was predicted to be almost 10lb. I was monitored for diabetes etc. When she arrived she was 7lb 12!

mrsed1987 · 12/01/2019 11:07

Its just a prediction and from what ive read on here most of the time its completely wrong! Lol

My second I was told was absolutely massive at 11lb 7oz at the growth scan I had a week before she was born but she arrived via c section at 39 weeks at 9lb 1oz , so they were very wrong they work it on tummy size and head size and both were big on her but she was little everywhere else

I was exactly the same with my first - they induced me a week early because of how big I was measuring - I gave birth to a 7lbs8 baby.
