I know I have already had one baby but that was a looong time ago. I keep waking up at night and fining I am lying on my tummy. Am 13+5 now and already starting to show (uterus is well above pubic bone now).

Is there a problem with lying on tummy?

awen I meant to say this on the antenatal thread but I was told it is fine to lie on your front until it is no longer comfortable (maybe 5-6 months) - if it was bad for the baby I'm sure you would feel uncomfortable so don;t worry

thanks skidaddle x

I don't think lying on your tummy or back is particularly good for you as it'll be painful and squidge things up and your baby probably won't be thanking you just now. Lying on your left side is best as it increases blood flow to the placenta and is better for blood flow to your heart. I invested in one of those v pillows, it's a godsend as it stops you rolling over or just wedge a pillow behind your back and between your knees perhaps ?

ok Alfie, I will try that. Thank you

Was told by my MW that I could lay on my front as long as I was comfy to. Managed it til about 17 weeks. Now I am counting down the days when I can do it again (I think its scientifically impossible at the moment...)
PPS (37 weeks) x

ah yes pps, I remember the greatest joy after givig birth (apart form having dd of course) was being able to lie on my front again - bliss - lasted all of about three days and then my milk came in...

3 days will be heaven after 5 months of not!! I can't wait!! x

(Have mentioned this on a previous thread but...) bought a memory foam mattress for an absolute steal on ebay earlier this year and I'm still able to sleep on my front at
34wks!!! It is truly awesome and has made sleep during this pg soooo much more comfortable.

I've been wondering this too, but did not think to ask on here. Doh.
I don't like lying on my left side as i face DH then and i really do not like warm breath in my face, we sleep back to back.
(but not all the time )
Prefer lying on my right side, slepping on my back feels weird at the moment. I am 13+ 4.
