Advice - pain at top of bump

Yakadee · 11/01/2019 19:49

I've been feeling a terrible pain, right at the top of my bump (seems to coincide with back ache) for the last 3 days. Doesn't hurt in the morning, seems to get worse throughout the day and then it's agony at night (until I lay down and it's much better).

I just assumed it was general 'I'm nearly at the end' pregnancy pain??

Thanks x

I called maternity assessment and they think it's a pulled muscle but nothing to worry about.

Is it where your ribs are by any chance ?
How far are you x

My first thought was rib flare pain OP - which while bloody horrible isn't anything to be anxious about.

How far along are you?

I'm 37 weeks now. It doesn't feel in the right place for that (I don't think anyway?) and from what maternity assessment said it does sound to be a pulled muscle or something like that. X

I know exactly where you mean .. it'll be your ribs probably and it radiates round your back ! Laying down helps take the pressure off .. try something frozen on it . My last pregnancy my ribs felt like they were badly inflamed such a horrible bruised pain x

@3babyxx - Yeah, it can be agony by the end of the day. I have to say I've had a pretty straightforward and easy pregnancy so can't really complain. I'm booked in for my section in a few weeks though and can honestly say I'm very ready to get my baby and not be pregnant anymore! X

It'll just be where the baby's feet is under your ribs it is painful though .. and is this your first baby ?, you haven't got long left just hang in there Smile good luck with your section x

Iv got 3 and with my last it was the worst but my last two were tall and big ish babies xx

They think this baby could be fairly big (my son was 9lb2) but it's a guessing game until they're here really.

At least it's not for much longer lol x
