My employer offers up to 10 Keeping in touch days, and I'm just wondering what sort of things others used these days for?

@fee1234 HR had a brief chat with me about this as we haven't had my proper meeting but I've been told people usually use them if there is a big team meeting/project coming up or that is on going, they can come in to check the progress or be made aware of changes coming. I know people in the office have also used them to be a part of team building activity days or if nothing else just come in and get yourself familiar with the role, surrounding ect.

I used them to look at matters that had come in in my absence and what, if any, major policy changes had happened. I handled a couple of matters that could be dealt with on the day

As they are paid, I used them to let me use the unpaid portion of my mat leave, which I wouldn't have been able to take if it was fully unpaid.

It was also quite good to do occasional days to get used to the routine again and get DD used to the childcare that she was going to have when I went back to work.

I didn't use them for anything specific, just did odd days here and there. It let me get an idea of current projects and where the team was and what was coming up though.

I used mine to do the yearly update training and ease me back into the hectic ward work. I also managed to use one day to attend a training day that I had been after for a very long time.

I also was allowed to use two days in work to update my professional portfolio

I only used 1 day and this was for an off-site team building day.

1st Mat leave used 0 as there was no requirement/need for me to be in work or training to complete. 2nd Mat leave used all 10 as was going into a new role so did some in house training and catching up on new policy.
