36 weeks extreme tiredness

I’m almost 37 weeks and am extremely tired and just generally feel rotten and run down.
Is this normal? It feels extreme and it’s making me worry. I don’t remember any of it from my first pregnancy. I don’t ever remember feeling so tired and run down even when I was overdue first time round.
I have got up this morning sorted ds breakfast and emptied a load of washing and I’ve had to lie down.
I am sleeping at night but it is disrupted.
It just seems like the tiredness is extreme.
Dh is rolling his eyes when he gets in from work and I’m barely awake, thinking that I’m exaggerating, as like I say I was so well in late pregnancy first time.

First your DH needs to be supportive, not eye rolling! Does he think you are lying?

I am horrific at that stage of pregnancy, uncomfortable, on crutches, swollen, knackered - effectively I was out of action as a human being. It got progressively worse through pregnancies too. I was very jealous of people who could go on walks etc as that wasn't possible for me.

Having said that, do you think you should get checked out by your midwife? To rule out having a uti or something?

I think he thinks I am exaggerating as he will retort saying that he is tired from work etc.
This feels like beyond any tiredness ive ever had before, not just the usual tiredness from work/daily grind. My hips and back are all aching aswell with horrible shooting pains and Braxton Hicks.
At this point in my previous pregnancy I was out for a walk every day in the hope to get labour going soon. My housework was done there were meals prepared and frozen. In fact I think I was still working until 38 weeks!
Can a uti cause the tiredness type feelings I haven’t got any other symptoms of a uti?

Maybe you should call your midwife and get your BP checked. Your blood sugars could be low as well.
Think it can be fairly normal for a lot of women at this stage to be that tired but always best to get a check over.
I would slap my hubby if he rolled his eyes at me!

You didn't have a kid to care for last time!

I second checking with your midwife, just to be on the safe side.

I also suggest calling your midwife for a check - you could have low iron, which makes you feel dreadful.

If I’m honest, I haven’t taken a pregnancy multivitamin this time as the iron in them made me feel sick and constipated. Just took the folic acid and vitamin d. So I suppose it could be a possibility of low iron.
