Nightmares?

Hi guys,
I was just wondering if anyone has experienced violent nightmares whilst pregnant? I'm 17 weeks with my second child and keep having these violent nightmares to the point it's waking me up at night in a state. The main bits of these dreams are me being physically attacked or sexually assaulted. Iv Googled it but can't seem to find much about dreams of violence. Iv read dreams can express subconscious worries, has anyone experienced anything like this? Or know what this kind of dream could mean?

Sorry you're going through this :( I don't know specifically about that kind of content, but vivid or unusual dreams are definitely a pregnancy symptom. I had them with my last pregnancy and again now with this one. Some really vivid ones that have woken me up too. Sometimes anxiety dreams (had a really nasty one the other night dreaming that all my family sat me down to tell me what an awful person they think I am!) sometimes classic nightmares about being attacked or ghosts or something... all stressful and leave me completely awake, sometimes with me shouting in my sleep or as I wake up. I don't know what to suggest, but know you're not alone! And I wouldn't worry too much about reading into your subconscious - pregnancy throws up enough to worry about! xx

I've had some really disturbing dreams this pregnancy too. It's horrible! I wouldn't read too much into it though, it's just the hormones!

I read that when your undergoing stress or worry your mind makes up vivid dreams to make you feel better in some way.

Im pregnant with my 2nd, I keep having horrible dreams that my 1st dies horribly in some way. It's upsetting but apparently normal with the increase of hormones we have in pregnancy

Yes I had that, really disturbing but to do with hormones, your body working out what's going on I think. Hope they get better soon x
