Tens machine says not for use in pregnancy

Hoping someone can help, I’m 28 weeks pregnant and bought a Tens machine online, to help with my back pain. It has 4 pads and had really good reviews. It’s just arrived and it says on the back not for use while pregnant or during labour.

I didn’t realise there was different ones but I’ve googled it and can’t find what the difference is or if it would be harmful?

I’ve read that the maternity ones have a boost button for labour but can I use this one when I’m not in labour?

Thanks xx

I've been advised not to use tens machine until 37 weeks as it can trigger labour. The obstetric ones have the boost function for during contractions. Not sure a regular tens would be as effective for pain relief. Can you return this one?

Thanks @physicskate I was too eager and was already using it when I read the box! I’ve been so excited all week to use it!

It seems a really good one so I can always keep it for afterwards. Thanks x
