Moving address / drs whilst pregnant

Hi all, just looking for some advice - we have moved house since being pregnant and starting our midwife care at our old drs. I have not yet told them we have moved as I want to keep my care with them throughout my pregnancy.

The only thing I’m worried about is when it comes to the home visits after birth - when do I tell them I’ve moved? Can I tell my midwife I have moved but want to stay with them and give them my new address?! Confused!

Thanks

My old address is my parents address which is why I’ve been able to leave myself registered to my old address

How far away have you moved?

You really need to change your address and tell your midwives if they don't cover your area, for starters they make a referral to the health visiting service who are supposed to do a pre birth home visit these days.

Plus your address ends up being pre printed on all your hospital labels etc

15 min car journey - I didn’t know about the pre home visit so thank you. My next app is in 4 weeks so I’ll have to tell them then to get everything in motion

It depends on where you live but community midwives sometimes cover quite large areas, I changed my GP but that didn't affect my care in anyway.

I told my doctor's I'd moved and they said I was out of their area, I asked to stay and the practice partners agreed I could as I've been there since I was a baby.
Thankfully my midwife team covers a huge area so no problems with them still doing home visits etc at my new address
