26 weeks pregnant - pressure in bottom

Dd, 17, is nearly 26 weeks pregnant.
She's having a pain coming and going in her stomach and bottom, and says she feels pressure in her bum like she needs a poo.
She's been having pain for some days and was in hospital on Thursday evening before a scan showed inflammation on her hip and she was diagnosed with pelvic girdle pain, but this pressure is new.
I'm clueless because I've never given birth (dds are adopted) so just seeing if anyone can tell us if this is normal? She's quite small and I don't think she'll go full term.
Also her boobs are leaking the occasional drop of milk so I've told her to start wearing a pad in her bra - again is that normal at this stage?

Not normal.
She needs to be seen at hospital asap. Could well be prem labour.

Thanks, endoftheline.
I'll ring the hospital and let them know we'll be popping up.

Hi just wanted to know how your DD got on? Hope everything is ok?

Papergirl1968 · 11/01/2019 13:49

She's ok, thanks. We saw a midwife who said it's not uhheard of to feel pressure in the bum in later pregnancy.
I think baby will come early but hoping to get her to 35 weeks or so.

I’ve been getting a pressure in my bum too! I’m at 30 weeks now something tells me baby may arrive early but who knows. Going to ask my midwife at 31 weeks as it’s not painful etc just weird feeling Hmm

I had the pressure when I was 23 weeks and was so convinced it was labour, I called an ambulance! Very frightening but all was ok and he was born at term.

That's reassuring to hear Smile

Hi @Papergirl1968 I didn't have any pressure but I did suffer from terrible braxton Hicks for a while. My dd came at 35 weeks and was absolutely fine. We had to stay in so she could learn to feed but we were home before 37 weeks which was amazing. Wishing your dd all the best!

Good luck to you both :)

Thanks everyone 👍🏻
