Induction booked!

I'm 4 days overdue and I went to my midwife yesterday for a sweep but she said my cervix was closed tight but she could feel the baby's head. I'm booked to be induced Saturday so I've got 3 days. How can I help get my cervix open and try to get into labour by myself?

I don't want a c section so trying so hard for things to happen before it comes to that's

Sex? Bouncing on a ball? Walking?

Nothing really works until baby is ready to be honest ☹️ this was me the same time last year - 4rh baby, 4 sweeps with no success and I tried absolutely everything. Still had to be induced!!!!

I tried bouncing on a ball and taking Red Raspberry Leaf and my cervix was already 1cm dilated when I was induced at 38+3. No idea if that was the reason though.

Not all inductions end in a csection, so don't panic.

I would question why you're being induced at only 40+7 if your cervix is unfavourable. (Although it might change by the time you get there).
It would stand a much better chance of success if your cervix was more ready.
Our trust lets women go to 40+14, that extra 7 days could make all the difference.

I've walked just under 5 miles today. I've been active everyday just want my labour to start before Saturday!
