How much weight did you gain each trimester?

19 weeks think I've gained about 5kg, feel horrible though!

I'm 20 weeks and have put about 8lb on total so far.

Endofrelationship · 08/01/2019 12:12

36 weeks and gained 5lbs.

I was very nauseous in my first trimester and lost a stone so only regained my pre-pregnancy weight at 30 weeks. I'm slightly overweight anyway, so shouldn't gain much for a healthy pregnancy.

If you are a healthy weight then 2 stone is a healthy weight gain, with half of that being gained in the 3rd trimester.

Porridgeprincess · 08/01/2019 12:33

I am 12 weeks and am up about 5lbs. My appetite is strong now though so I am going to have to watch myself.

mommysharkdodo · 08/01/2019 12:48

At my 17 week appointment I had put on 4 pounds, got appointment next week at 24 weeks and I definitely feel I have put a lot more on now 😑

nomorearsingmermaids · 08/01/2019 12:50

I put on 2 fcking stone in the first trimester, another 2 stone in the rest of the pregnancy.

I felt sick as a dog the whole way through unless I was eating, but any salads, veg, fruit made me vomit. I just wanted to eat bread constantly.

Beckyv88 · 08/01/2019 13:42

I’m about 15lbs up at 20 weeks. Definitely on the higher side and I’m going to be very careful about what I eat - I think a lot of it has been down to bad eating and lack of exercise over Christmas. In the first trimester I was about 7lbs up so it’s been much quicker in the 2nd.

Lonzo · 08/01/2019 13:52

I’m nearly 19 weeks and have put on 4.7kg. According to this calculator www.thebabycorner.com/tools/pregnancy/calculators/weightcalculator.php that’s about right for someone who started out with a normal BMI. Christmas has put me at the top of the normal range though!

Kescilly · 08/01/2019 13:54

I’ve been using American guidelines that tell you what your total weight gain should be according to BMI.

Recently I came across this calculator.

I gained nothing in the first trimester (or rather lost 5lbs and gained them back again). At 37 weeks i have gained 3 stone (42lbs), mostly gained in second trimester.
I had a BMI of 27 to start with, and have been eating to manage feeling sick.

howdyholdthedoody · 08/01/2019 14:01

I put on 27lb in pregnancy of 41weeks.
Had 8lb 12oz baby.

Melamine · 08/01/2019 14:15

Christmas has accelerated mine for sure. 21 weeks and 6kg/13lb. Started out at 70kg and 5’10!

Kescilly · 08/01/2019 14:16

Me too @Melamine. I suddenly felt hungry all the time and it coincided with holiday food everywhere! Desperate to get back on track now.

Melamine · 08/01/2019 14:22

@kescilly I’m trying not to think about it too much, though I am hoping I’ll perhaps slow the gain slightly now. I basically put on half as much again over those two weeks (4kg total gain before!). Oh well, still just fine according to that calculator you just posted! And actually the same amount I usually put on over Christmas, but it usually gradually comes off over January 😂

Kescilly · 08/01/2019 14:26

@Melamine I’m sure you’ll be fine then. I’m more stressed since I was overweight to begin with and have tried to have better nutrition while pregnant. I wasn’t sick at all during the first trimester either, so no weight loss there!

madamdarkin · 08/01/2019 18:15

My BMI was 22 to start off with (I'm 6 foot) and now it's about 23.75

Struggling here and yes Xmas didn't help!

WhiteWashGails · 08/01/2019 18:18

I was 7.5 now I’m 11.2 - so technically too much even considering I was low in th first place. I kind of don’t care, and hope I keep some of the weight.

I was naturally thin, but still too thin

WhiteWashGails · 08/01/2019 18:19

And I’m 38 weeks now

homegrownmumma · 08/01/2019 18:19

First trimester I put on a stone , second 7lbs and third a stone

homegrownmumma · 08/01/2019 18:21

If it makes any one feel better I found the weight just melted off , back to my slightly chunky pre pregnancy weight in 5 months 😊

Endofrelationship · 08/01/2019 18:29

Thanks for the link Kescilly that shows I'm 6lbs under what they think I should be. Which as I'm already overweight is not a bad thing!

Pamelashipman80 · 08/01/2019 19:45

17 weeks and put on 8lbs so far. I am starting to feel more hungry but exercising most days!
