Thrush?! TMI!

Hi, sorry for the TMI post. Yesterday and today I have had really sore and itchy labia, both inner and outer. They also appear quite swollen. It's really getting me down today as its so uncomfortable. Does anyone know what this could be? Or what I can do about it? I've tried to get a Dr appointment but can't be seen until next Monday and I'm going to really struggle with this pain and discomfort until then. If it's thrush, do I need to see a gp as I'm pregnant or can I just get something over the counter?

My midwife said that Canestan is fine to use pregnant. Make sure it’s the pessary or internal creams and not the tablet. The tablet isn’t safe. If you use the pessary then don’t use the applicator, put it in by hand.

I had many treatments for thrush through this pregnancy (now 35 weeks). I kept being diagnosed with thrush but turns out it was actually a UTI that I’d had since January!

I have heard cases of pharmacists not allowing pregnant women to buy it though

Thanks! Will taking it when it's not needed cause any harm do you think? Terrified of making things worse down there! I don't remember this at all from my first pregnancy. Hope yours all gets cleared up now they know what it is.

I went out and brought the cream and pessery over the weekend, after reading about pharmacists being funny about selling it to pregnant women i went in to boots and they actually have it just down the aisle, so i just paid for it at the normal counter.

Ive just used the cream as i dont think i have it internally and its already almost cleared, 3 days

My gyn told me that canesten cream was fine to use. If they won't sell it to you, send a friend or your DP.
