Hi,
This is my first kind of post in anything like this. But basically i’ve Just turned 23, I’ve been with my boyfriend for 2 months Nd we are Very happy. I found out last night that i’m 3 weeks Pregnant. (We weren’t trying... birth control failed). I feel I’m absolute shock. My mum thinks I should have an abortion as, although I have a good job, i’m at the very beginning of my career and just graduated last year so it’s not at all ideal. I don’t feel ready but the Thought of abortion breaks my heart. My boyfriend said he will support me either way. Advice please??

Well firstly I’d say you’ll still have an opportunity to continue career progression post baby. It might look different to what you initially thought and it’s worth looking at childcare options for future consideration. I had a baby early on in my career and returned part time, I’ve managed to gain promotion and I’m a specialist in my field. I love the balance I have between my work and my children too.

Do you want a baby? You say the thought of abortion breaks your heart, so maybe seriously consider keeping your baby and see how that makes you feel.

No one can give you an answer expect yourself (and try not to feel swayed by what your
Mum wants for you unless you want that too) Flowers

Hi, I was in a similar position to you. I fell pregnant early in a relationship just after I'd finished college. I now have a lovely 7 month old ds, myself and my partner moved in together just before he was due. I love being a mother and have no regrets. I plan to go back into education once ds is 2 and currently work part-time. It can be difficult at times but overall it is a joy. I do know that everyone's different, but I just wanted to reassure you that if you do decide to keep the baby, it isn't necessarily as hard as some people make out. Either way, best of luck to you. Thanks

This was me almost 11 years ago, we'd been together a few months and it was totally unplanned. We went through a tough time figuring out what we wanted but ultimately decided to keep our baby. We moved in together, I left my post grad job because it wasn't suitable and moved down south as my boyfriend had an amazing job that way. We now have a 3 children number 4 on the way and are happily married-never saw it coming, I wouldn't have put a bet on us working out back then but that scary time turned out to be the best thing that could've happened to us, we'd never be without him or the others or each other. Trust your heart. The fact you aren't fixed on a termination tells me you can see a way forward, you'll know what to do deep down xx

I fell pregnant one year after graduating and starting my first professional job. Honestly if you want the career enough then you will go back to it after your maternity and keep your head down and not let the baby affect it. 5 years on here I love my child to pieces but also love my job, it's hard at times but so worth it

I fell pregnant after 2months, with my ex he left my just after DS first birthday for ow. It’s a big thing having a child and having since experienced having a baby with someone I trust and who I know doesn’t compare op.

I was naive to think we would be together happy ever I think you’re dm is speaking some sense.
