Lower back pain

I'm 16+2 and not really showing yet (tiny bump that I can see and feel but that's it) but my back is killing me! Its a lower back ache-y feeling rather than sharp pain or anything, and gets worse when I sit down for anything more than 15-20 mins, and a short walk does relieve it. I sit at a desk all day at work and obviously I can get up and stretch my legs, but I cant have a 5 minute walk every 20 mins to make my back feel better, I wouldn't be doing any work! Is there anything else I can do to ease it?

It might be your chair. Have you had a risk assessment done? Maybe a referral to occupational health could help and they could assess your chair.

physicskate is right, I would suggest having a risk assessment done. I had one done and I was given a different chair and also not sure if you already have one but a foot rest too?

Ok thanks, is that something I’d go through HR for normally? They know I’m pregnant but haven’t really said anything about it

@MeredithGrey1 yeah, speak to HR and tell them you are having back pain, they should automatically arrange for a a risk assessment although it's not always done straight away, I had to wait about 2 weeks for the assessor to come in and then my chair didn't arrive until 3 months later - that was mainly because my HR team are a bit slow lol. Hopefully they can get everything sorted for you quicker x

I use one of those heated bean bag things you put in the microwave - really nice at the end of the day to use on lower back
