Light bleeding at 26 weeks

I’ve not had any bleeding in this pregnancy so far. I had a bath around an hour ago and thought I needed a wee, there was some blood along with it on the tissue paper. I’ve panicked and called DP up and we’ve looked online as I know some light spotting is normal so I don’t want to over cautious etc.

Ive wore a panty liner for the last hour as I was going to contact my maternity unit if it hadn’t improved. I’m still spotting and the liner is a light brown. I’ve got a low lying placenta and we’ve not had sex for quite a while so I know it’s not that either.

I’ve been constipated for the last few days and it’s not coming from that end, but could this be affect of that? I will be calling the GP tomorrow for an appointment re: the constipation anyway. Baby is really active and kicking away which again is making me worried although LO is active with the bleeding and movements I’m starting to think something might be wrong? I don’t have any cramps but feel sick I’m assuming it’s because I’m worrying.
Any advice before I phone the maternity unit would be appreciated?

Hi, I’ve got a low lying placenta too and have been told to call straight away if I get any bleeding. Hopefully it’s fine but I’d definately call

Thank you I’ll ring them now I just don’t want to waste anyone’s time which I know I shouldn’t when pregnant x

You definately aren’t wasting their time although I also feel the same and won’t call unless it’s extreme :) let us know how you get on and good luck

I had bleeding at 20/21 weeks due to a low lying placenta. It's not that uncommon but you absolutely should get it checked out. I was kept in overnight with mine so they could observe me and be sure it had stopped.

Everything calmed down in my case and I went in to have DS at term, the bleeding didn't cause any issues in the pregnancy and DS was entirely unaffected!

I had spotting with placenta previa and was admitted to hospital (this was at 24 weeks and again at 35) the one at 24 I was discharged the next day and at 35 it escalated to a huge bleed in the middle of the night. I would definitely call and be prepared to go in!

Thanks everyone. I’ve spoken to a midwife, she’s not overly concerned as it’s a light pink and the pad is a light brown, she’s told me to continue to monitor and if it’s red call back or go down ASAP. I burst into tears on the phone and was quite upset afterwards so she’s said if I’m still concerned to go down, I have calmed down abit now but it’s nice that option is there if needed. It’s so scary seeing any type of blood, I’m in bed trying to relax but thanks again.

Hi thundered. I hope you’re doing ok today and the bleeding has stopped.

I know how you feel about feeling bad for calling in but it’s reassuring when you’ve spoken to them.
